I thought I'd seen a thread for this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it on my useless iPhone.

I know the Dogenzaka well, but do any of you gentlemen have any hotel recommendations in the Shinbashi area? Besides the Conrad, obviously. ;)

I used to go to Shimbashi when the famous pink salon "Supergirls" was active... seen lots of fuzoku establishments in the area, but never a love hotel. Maybe your best option is hop in a taxi and go to Gotanda?

This hotel was mentioned on a Japanese site as being an option for those people looking for a love hotel in the Shinbashi area:

http://rr-and.com/

Also:

http://www.shinbashi-apple.com/ (1 minute from the station)

Lastly:

http://calm-hawaii.com/ -- Also recommended from Japanese sites.

Those would be my top three.

There was one specific love hotel there before, but I don't know if it's there and I don't remember the exact name anymore. If I find it, I'll post it later.

Aside from this:

Go to either Gotanda or Okachimachi/Ueno area.

Title says love hotels... These can be and are used as such. Their sites also indicate that it's acceptable.

<< Love Hotel
(last part says cheap alternative to love hotel/business hotel.)

Do these have port on the TV's, condoms and other stuff like you find in Shibuya and Shinjuku? Probably not. But, still useful for the intended activities. :)

You know they have laws governing new love hotels? New ones can be only built in certain areas. Old ones can't be renovated (i.e. Roppongi)... So, what's the business solution? Business Hotels/Love Hotels.

Just had another recommendation come in:

http://rainbowhotel.ne.jp/

Rooms kind of suck from what I heard from Japanese escort. She said that this place presents as a business hotel, but they expect people to use it as a love hotel. It's around 4,500 yen for ~3 hours.

Rental Rooms: The key she said there is the shower. Some rooms don't have a shower inside, so double-check the room before going.

Besides the Conrad, obviously. ;)

The Conrad is just superb for the purpose though if you are doing more than an hour or a few of fun - the huge long settee along the almost floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bay or the city, the very generously sized shower with plenty of room for playing, the classic bathtub located in front of the picture window into the bed area for all sorts of creative voyeur games, the spectacular bar (with often better than ok live bar music) for warming up etc etc.

With your budget for playing, the choice of locations expands massively, of course...

Hmmmm...ok, but fwiiw and imo, there are Tokyo hotels that are as expensive as the Conrad (or even more) where the rooms do not make nearly such nice "love nests". So, I'm just sayin'...

Thank you, TAG Manager, for the suggestions! I did actually Google in Japanese and bookmarked a couple of those 'rental rooms', but some of them looked a bit clinical and dodgy, so I was wondering if anyone knew any more traditional love hotels in the area. Given the nature of the area it all seems to be business and luxury hotels, though.

Zaphod, I did actually end up taking your advice and went to Gotanda instead, to my usual place. Thanks!

Wwanderer: I was being facetious - I'm familiar with The Conrad (it's one of my favourites!) and actually had an appointment in a suite there directly after that love hotel, which is why I was looking for somewhere in Shinbashi. However, most guys who aren't here temporarily on business don't tend to book rooms at five-star hotels for a two hour appointment... more's the pity! ;)

I checked the デリヘルBBS for information on Shinbashi and those were the places that popped up (in addition to the one other escort I talked to that sees business visitors to Tokyo). Those girls based in 池袋、御徒町、鴬谷 - mostly use the Rainbow Hotel one that I mentioned. (When they have to go to Shinbashi) From what I'm told, Shinbashi has 'cleaned up' in he last 10-15 years.

Yeah, I got that and figured you knew already. My post was mostly intended for readers looking to book a 5-star for their Tokyo digs know that the Conrad is a good choice for a bit of adult fun, p4p or otherwise. But I failed to make my target audience clear. Mea culpa!

I might add that they, the hotel management and staff, are very tolerant and sophisticated about it too. I spent around a week there once "rooming" with an SB 37 years my junior, and on another occasion I had a different sexy young lady, one of whom arrived rather inappropriately dressed for such a classy place, staying overnight in my room on each of 3 straight nights. No one, aside from a couple of the other guests, so much as raised an eyebrow in either case. In my experience, not all upscale hotels are quite that "understanding"!

Good call, neighbour! Just out of curiousity, what is your usual place in Gotanda? Mine is "B-side" on the other side of the river. The free draft beer in the lobby seals the deal for me :)

Free draught beer?! Point me there!

I don't actually remember the name of the place I always go to... but it's in the red light district on the corner, and I think the building is black?

Ah, OK. Next to the parking lot, and recently renovated, right? Never been there. The prices look alright, but I suspect the rooms are a bit small (guessing from the rate and the pictures).

Yes, "B-side" has free draft beer! Not in the rooms of course, but in the lobby. I just think that is such a nice touch. Makes you feel the "Omotenashi". And the rooms are really nice. If you don´t find the place, I´d be happy to show you :)

I was looking for a LH in Shinbashi and found most of the ones above http://rr-and.com/room.html is probably the only one I'd consider.

We ended up going to my place instead but this was with a friend not a "friend".
