Details of the Encounter:
Yamamoto Mimikaki is NOT a Fuzoku shop, and does NOT offer any kind of sex related services. But, it is a massage store that has a certain kind of soft porn feature. So I'm writing the review here, if its not appropriate, I'm happy to delete it.

Yamamoto Mimikaki has three branches in Tokyo: Akihabara(headquarter), Shinnjuku, and Ikebukuro. I've had services in all of those shops in one week, so this is gonna be a rather comprehensive and long review.

1. Shinnjuku Branch: Kozue
http://www.yamamotomimikaki.com/komachi-detail.php?n=20180501125129

The shop location is a bit hard to find, Google Map does not point you to the right direction, and you need to go around the back of the building to see the signboard.

Went in, asked the tencho if gaijin is ok. Chose the 60 mins course, paid, then was told to wait outside. One min later, I was welcomed inside, and Kozue was waiting. She's young and cute, a typical Japanese girl. Went into one of the small rooms, was offered towel and tea. Had small talk in Japanese, and she asked if we could speak in English. I agreed.

Below is their standard massage procedure for an 1-hour ear session:

She sat on the floor with her knees, and told me to lie down, facing either right or left, and placing my head on her laps. She covered my eyes with sheets. She began with simple massage of the ear auricle, and then start cleaning my ear wax with a ear wax cleaner. It felt so good cuz she was very soft and gentle the whole process. After cleaning, she breathed softly into my ear hole. And she did the same to my other ear.

Then she told me to lie face up on her laps, and start a simple head massage(still with my eyes covered). We talked in English during the whole process btw. She said she's an art student, and had just returned from the UK studying English. But still, her English was far from satisfying, I even believed we may communicate better in my broken Japanese.

Lastly, was the hand massage. She finally removed my eye-cover, and sat beside me, massaging my hands with some kind of oil. She also massaged my forearms. And the session ended with a simple shoulder massage.

For my first ear massage experience, it felt really good. Despite the simple decoration and literally no soundproof, the whole session was very relaxing, although I did have a feeling that she kind of used me to help her practicing English. And she did said "Thank you for practicing English with me" at the end. lol

2. Akihabara Branch: Kotone
http://www.yamamotomimikaki.com/komachi-detail.php?n=20110520154646

Walked in without explaining my foreigner identity this time. Also chose the 1-hour session. Kotone was also very cute, with a kind of kawaii voice. The whole massage process was almost identical to my first experience, except she did take quite some time with ear wax picking and did not massage my forearms. Also, she kept my eyes covered during hand massage, which I later found out was their common practice. So I guess Kozue removed my eye cover so I could better help with her English. lol

3. Ikebukuro Branch: Sayuri
http://www.yamamotomimikaki.com/komachi-detail.php?n=20180226153754

Didn't explaining my gaijin identity as well. Got Sayuri, who's a bit chubbier than the previous two girls, but still cute. Standard 1 hour ear massage, but she drew a heart on my point card after the session, which was quite cute.

4. Shinnjuku Branch: Uta
http://www.yamamotomimikaki.com/komachi-detail.php?n=20180220112919

Got an appointment in Shinnjuku at night, had one hour to kill, so decided to go for the 30 min session. Uta is short haired, and she was really serious about ear wax picking. I mean it even hurts when she did the picking. The 30 min session consists everything from the 1 hour session except the hand massage.

5. Akihabara Branch: Miyonn
(Don't why, but I can't find her profile on the website)

I wanted to try their Nadeshiko course, so walked in one night, but tencho said I had to make reservation to choose this course. Booked tomorrow, paid 13,000 for a 2 hour session upfront.

Nadeshiko course is basically a full body oil massage with ear massage. Tencho showed me to the basement level where they have larger rooms. Miyonn was very nadeshiko like, if you know what 撫子 means in Japanese. Had small chat, was asked to fill out a form, and chose what kind of oil did I want and which body parts needed most care. She then told me to take off all my clothes and changed in the underware offered in the shop. She left the room for me to get changed. I got changed, lay on the massage bed, covered myself with towel. Then she came back in and began oil massage. A quite decent one really, I even fell asleep multiple times cuz it was too relaxing and comfortable. She massaged everywhere except the belly and breasts, and of course, NO Service to your little brother.

She cleaned my body with warm towel and then dry towel afterwards. When she almost finished, she asked if I wanted ear wax picking or stick with body massage, and I chose the former. But we only had 20 mins left, so it went quite quick.

She told me that there are only five girls who can perform Nadeshiko course, all of them in Akihabara shop. (Strangely, I can only find four on the website, so maybe Miyonn is new and they haven't uploaded her profile). She also said that the girls may rotate between shops.

A few things to note:
If you want to pick the girls, you need to pay an extra 500yen/30 mins, but there's no pictures in the shop for you to pick. But if you choose Nadeshiko course, there's no 指名 fee. But I always go with "free", cuz you can't see the girls during massages anyway.

Pros and Cons:

Pros: Young and cute Japanese girls;
Almost guaranteed good service;
Cheap and extremely relaxing.

Cons: All three shops have no sound proof and you can hear other guests talking to their service providers;
I think if you just walk in, you'll probably get a new girl, cuz I can hear tencho taking a lot of reservation calls while I waited;
If you get addicted to it, don't go there too often, cuz I believe doing ear wax picking too frequently may damage your hearing.

Final Thoughts:
Recommended, Will Repeat.

Closing Comments:
I'll say this again. This is NOT a Fuzoku shop and does NOT provide any type of sexual related services. NO TOUCHING is a RULE there. So just relax and let the girl do her magic to you.

I'm wondering did they pick out a lot of ear wax out of your ear the first time?

And was there still ear wax at your last visit?

Because i wonder how much ear wax somebody could generate during a certain period of time.

By the way why would it be bad for your hearing if you go too frequently? If they do it properly each time it shouldnt be a problem right?

I don't know cuz they won't show you your ear wax obviously lol. And the bad for hearing is just a thing that many people in my home country believes, I don't think it has scientific proof anyway.

That's because most people use cotton swabs, which can push wax further back in the canal where it becomes impacted. Ear picks, used properly, actually remove the wax.

I actually see a ENT specialist every so often, for a real, professional cleaning. I had an incident (temp hearing loss) with one my ears a few years ago that scared me straight about making sure my ears were cleaned properly. I figure, I can't see in my own ears, so I prefer to let a pro do it...

The danger is non-professionals may not sterilize the equipment properly, picking the wax directly from the eardrum can perforate or infect it. So hearing loss is not a myth but a real danger. Not to mention the earwax of asian people is very different in texture from caucasians.

I don't go more than once a month.

Asian ear wax different than Caucasian ear wax? That's a new one for me.... :rolleyes: Don't need the details... But it's a curious statement none the less

I was curious what the Nadeshiko course actually provided, so really appreciate the review! Still kicking myself for completely forgetting to visit a shop when I was in Japan last month :banghead::cry:

There is something like soft earwax and hard earwax. Its not totally bound to race but i think most Asian people have one and most Western people have the other. I don’t know how this influences earn picking but i guess the hard wax is easier to pick up...

Sorry i know you said “no details” ;)

Wet earwax naturally exits the ear canal much more easily than dry earwax, which is why among East Asian groups the dominant dry flaky ear wax gene has created familial ear cleaning rituals within the culture. Dry and flaky types get impacted much more easily, affecting hearing and causing irritation and possible infection.

Wet Earwax is dominant within Caucasian and African genes. Interestingly enough the Ainu people are within this group, helping to prove that they migrated and settled the area long before the current Japanese, and that their ancestry is mostly derived from the steppe people.

Really? Last time I checked the Ainu aren't of Caucasian descent but rather an isolate group which doesn't fit into either Caucasian or Mongolian classifications that migrated directly from Africa and crossed the ice bridge into Japan.

No, I said the Ainu fall into the soft earwax gene group, not Caucasian or African. They are descended from the Sundadont Mongoloids who were the main people group up to certain areas of Russia and fairly far south almost all the way to Australia. Hence, they formed part of the Steppe people.

A lot of it has more to do with where you live than with your ethnicity. When I was in back home in the US I had ear blockages once or twice a year where my ear wax which was soft would often build up. Here in Japan that has stopped it is now harder and easier for me to manage on my own. I suspect when I move back to the US I am going to have the original problem again.

They don't at any other place I've been. Except once, but this place doesn't have ear picking on the menu rather it is a reward for using up three point cards. She took a trimmer to my ear for me, and I get the idea it was a special service as we're kind of friends by now.

So what is up with this mimikaki thing? Why anyone would want to do it makes absolutely no sense to me. It seems like the ultimate in Japanese perverted, twisted activities. The little innocent japanese girl knows that the salaryman could really care less about getting his ears cleaned and certainly wouldn't pay 3,000 for it. Yet there he is with his greasy head on her lap. Why? Well, she knows that he probably is getting some kind of strange sexual excitement from the thing. She knows he probably has a boner. She knows that he is probably fantasizing about her vagina - as it is only a few inches from the side of his head seperated only by her kimono and her panties. Yet she pretends to be innocent to all of this! The ultimate in Japanese style perversion. They should have a 30,000 yen version where everything starts out like the normal mimikaki session, but midway through the guy gets to jump up and force himself on the innocent little girl. Of course she would have to be a trained pro who knows the deal. But she would pretend to resist. He brandishes his sword. She feins shock. Dame! Dame! But finally she relents and secumbs to his evil desires. Now that would make sense to me. And I'd probably be up for it too.
