Kun-kun Happening Bar In Ueno

As far as I am aware, LE vice raids on mizu shobai businesses of all types are pretty rare in Japan, but I vaguely recall hearing about another HB being busted recently. I hope this isn't some new effort to "clean up" Tokyo in prep for the Olympics or something of that sort...could be a major bummer! In any case I suspect that even a couple of such busts will make the HB places tighten up their requirements for admission and generally become more conservative. :(

It's rare that HBs get raided, as many others have been open for many years.

Often there are politics and pay offs going on behind the scenes. There might have been something else going on. For instance that they were using pro AV stars or P4P women. This puts the club into a different category, besides HB.

Murder, rapes, robberies, drugs mean nothing... Let's waste tax payer money attacking consenting adults enjoying each other.

And then dinosaur Japanese wonder why the population, birth rate, and sex per week average among Japanese couples has so dramatically decreased.

Very sad.

In 2004, there was a raid of a HB that had AV stars in their events. The porn star was wrestler Chocoball Mukai at the Roppongi HB called Rock. AV stars and HBs seemed to be a problematic mix.

According to the photo and caption in the article I linked, Kun-kun had a special event featuring AV star Hikari Hino, though it is not clear if the raid occurred during this special event.

That's maybe why. I looked at the event advertisement and reports on it.

AV stars at HBs are unusual. The point is the place is for regular every day people and NON-professionals. Often obvious money starts to be exchanged for sex with AV stars or the AV stars advertise live sex shows for the audience. AV star involvement then generates massive attention, which makes them appear on the radar to prude patrols. The HB then crosses some line by advertising P4P.

However, I still find it odd, considering all the Japanese P4P shops that are advertised on the Internet, to include pricing.

Location and how long Kun-kun has existed, may add to it. They have only existed since 2012 or 2013, in comparison many other HBs have existed for 5 to 10 years plus. Newer HBs, in locations where there are some community complaints about them or in an odd location, are way more likely to be subject to raids due to politics behind the scenes.

Yep, an unusual location. When I saw your OP above, the first thought to cross my mind was something like, "Really...an HB in Ueno?" Of course HBs are generally fairly low profile places, and for all I know Ueno could have a bunch that never showed up on my personal radar.

The date of event is September so probably not related. If there was an av star then I would expect more than 4 customers at the time. I would live to go to one of those events though.

In such a raid the police would not ordinarily arrest ALL of the customers present. Unless Japanese law is quite different from most other First World countries, it is not illegal to be present in a location where some violation of the law is taking place. A customer only gets arrested if he/she is *found* to be provably doing something illegal...which might not even be related to the purpose of the raid (i.e., people get arrested for outstanding warrants, carrying drugs or weapons, visa violations etc).

Correct. When studying past raids, it wasn't every person in the establishment, but rather those doing something worthy of arrest.

You are allowed to sit in the bar, drink, and watch.
 
I use to go here. It was a great place. Was huge and Saturday nights were crazy. The price was nice as well.

I was thinking of going again. Thankfully I did not. Any one know if it is true for just being there. Granted the charge might not stick but it would still suck to be shown on TV.

I wonder if the people arrested were just pawns. Like they got paid or sold out. Cause this guy was making a lot of money he could not have been that dumb to not pay off the right people
 
It's kind of amazing seeing authorities bother such private member only clubs when Japan's sexless marriage rate is at over 50%, birth rate rapidly plummeting, and Japan leads all industrialized countries with the LOWEST sexual satisfaction and sexual frequency rates according to multiple surveys.

This prudishness is clearly doing nothing positive for Japan.
 
I am not sure though how such clubs could imprve fertility rates....

People that tend to not to have sex much and have an aversion to natural sexuality, will usually have a lower birthrate.

Fertility is also a reflection of sexual vitality, particularly with males.
