If this place has been mentioned already on this site, apologies but I only been here 2 days :D

Tasuichi is a cheap, standing only bar in Shibuya. It is busy most nights but packed at the weekends. Good mix of clientele, 50% J and 50% foreign. It is very easy to meet people here, other foreigners as well as Japanese girls, since the place is so small and strangers get bunched together at the same table. It is also easy relativelyto move around if you want to make new friends.

Staff are very friendly too, unusual for a place which gets so many foreign visitors who dont speak a word of Japanese. I have met male and female tourists there from Norway, Italy, Columbia, Hungary and other countries.

Getting there is easy. You go along Center Gai and keep going str8 when the road narrows. You will pass a few restuarants and a Brit flag for Aldgate Pub. At the end of the street you will see Outback Steak House and Tasuichi is on the left just b4 you get there.

Draft Kirin Heartland beer is 300 yen only all nite. Cocktails are about 500 yen. They do food too which is edible and even show live sport on large TV screen.

What is the age range of people there?

He He....

I have never felt as young as today, but this does not mean I am...well, Young!!

The conclusion, though, is that, sadly, this place is not for me!!

Average age is probably 25, but have seen a lot older. There is an ex military American dude who is often there with his sidekick holding court, both around 40. Also the occasional J sakaryman lurking alone hoping for a free English lesson.

It's a fun place and being there duznt mark a dude out as a predator

Give it a try and for Shibuya, prices are unbeatable

Not sure if it has been mentioned but 300 bar in ginza.
All drinks 300 yen 3 drink min. But not band it's about 50 50 women and men. Not really a lot of foreigners

Sorry if it has been posted before I'm new here

I can't believe you guys haven't been to Tasuichi yet! It (and the car park in front of it for those of you who enjoy a beverage a la conbini) is a classic gaijin hangout and is pretty decent most nights of the week, though I have to say I don't see too many unattached girls in there. Monday to Thursday is an older crowd (over 35). Coins Bar used to be good until they implemented the table service rule to impose order on the fun chaos. :/

I've been here several times. It can be a good place to get phone numbers and e-mails, but not much else.

I would rate it the equal to a guy going to a coffee shop, in terms of the level of action a guy can expect from the place. Don't get me wrong, you can get lucky at a coffee shop or in the mall, just shouldn't expect much.

It might be a better spot for foreign women, than for foreign guys.

1. It's first problem is that of logistics. It's not near a hotel that I know of and very unlikely that any foreign guys would live near there.

The best "hook up" places tend have hotels in walking distance or it's near your or her apartment.

However, because of the famous area that it's in, it has decent numbers in the place.

2. Many Japanese women didn't have that hooking up vibe.

This is hard to explain. But there was a lack of sexual energy or exploratory playfulness. If you have been to Shibuya, Roppongi, Shinjuku, etc... Then this vibe/energy is clearer to understand.

Women at the 300 bar would appear like they were trying to maintain a fake image, worried about who was watching them, or bumping into co-workers or friends.

The Shinagawa area, for example, also has this problem. Lots of people and bars, but it's too strongly an after work scene and not as much a fun party let's hookup scene.

Kitty, I guess you have to specify if it's a good hookup spot for women, men, or both.

A spot can easily be great for foreign women, but horrible for foreign men. And a place with very few single women, doesn't sound like a spot for single guys.

But in general, I do like Shibuya.

No, I was just using 'good' to mean 'good, lively atmosphere with plenty of people'. Also, I'm in no way condoning Tasuichi as a place to pick up anyone. It's the dregs. Just surprised no one had heard of it.

Scramble Bar, Shibuya.

Across the street from Hachiko exit. Mentioned because of sheer numbers and location.

Either get her phone number (and move on) or convince them to go another location/club with you, like the club/hotel area called Dogenzaka, which is a nearby walk.

Note- Have balls, and don't fear rejection.

HUB and 82 Ale House in Gotanda.

This is an unusual combination, with HUB downstairs and 82 Ale House upstairs.

Across the street, but can't be seen from the main street, there is a hotel (and another one after that and not too far away). You have to cross the street, then go behind the men's clothing store (Aoki), to see the back street and hotels.

This combination makes this a 1st night type place to get lucky, if you find a lady. And also a good place to take a date that you met online or have been e-mailing.

Furthermore, Gotanda train station is in the close vicinity of many hotels. So straight up talking to women and inviting them for drinks at a nearby restaurant (like maybe HUB/82 Ale House) is very doable. And then, there is that hotel nearby if things go well.

This is the type of place (club/bar/restaurant near to hotel) that guys should have in mind, as there are many others like it (if you explore the city).

When I talk to some guys, they don't understand "logistics". They try to score at places that are nowhere near a hotel or their/her apartment. Many women are sexually moody. The decision to or not to have sex can occur instantly, and if you are in a bad location or it will take a long voyage to find a bed, she may give a "rain check" and go home.

Club Flame, Shibuya (Dogenzaka area).

I'm not particularly into clubs, because there are lots of pretty women walking down the street and it's free to talk to them, but this one is better than many others in the area.

Note- Club Harlem is unbelievably straight up racist and discriminatory against male foreigners. I mentioned them, because they are the mosted hated club in Shibuya and it's nothing special when you enter. Club Atom and Club Asia, next and nearby are nothing special either. And both have this weird high school/childish vibe where Japanese separate into boys only and girls only groups and act like they are afraid of the opposite sex or sex in general. And Japan's government wonders why it's birthrate and sex frequency per week is so low. Like 3 chicks huddled together in a club and hotel district, but have an anti-sex agreement among them or not letting each other talk to guys.

Club Flame on the other hand, inexplicably, has a much better vibe to it. Being a good place to bring an online date or to look for action. Why these clubs have different vibes, might be a reflection of the owners and managers, and then the people they attract.

What makes Dogenzaka special is the massive number of love hotels in the area, combined with clubs and restaurants around them. Which makes for a great excuse to invite ladies. An unusual setup, and great if you find ways to use it to your advantage.

Thanx for that info Solong bro

I didnt heard of n e of those places u mentioned, will check them out this coming month, will b in Shibuya a lot 2 watch live footie at ridiculous times of morning

Has n e 1 here ever had any luck at Shibuya Gaspanic?

I go there a lot, have taken girls there and met girls there but never taken any home. Drinks are 300 yen b4 10 PM so it can get busy early. On Thursdays its 300 yen all nite. It attracts a lot of African dudes pretending to be Americans from the base but the girls know that. Sometimes you do get Americans there. This place has a bad reputation but I never seen n e trouble there :punch::panda: The only problem u mite get is someone hitting on ur girl when u go to take a leak :android:

As far as I know, the other clubs metnioned by Solong dont really get going till midnite and most people there are doing an allniter. I wish I had the stamina to do that

@AKB69

The only club that I mentioned that gets going a little late is Flame, as all the big clubs in the Dogenzaka area. And you might want to come there before midnight, as some Japanese women will leave early to catch the last train. There are usually 2 types of crowds, from 7pm to 12 midnight after work types or living with strict parents and then the after midnight to morning crowd.

The other clubs I mention can be good much earlier than midnight.

Gaspanic, Shibuya (close to Hachiko exit)

Hate it!

Was good 5 YEARS AGO. Then anti-foreigner groups smeared it on the Internet by calling all Japanese going there whores. Hearing that it was a "good" place, more Japanese guys started coming, and including starting racist/xenophobic trouble. Also, it became the hang out for lots of African guys pretending to be American. So on many nights, it's like a GAY club, as way more guys than women.

Doesn't have many women coming. Of the few women that come, because of the uncalled for and silly bad reputation it's been given, they are often extremely paranoid and with a group of girlfriends or their boyfriend.

And the nastiest, weird, and rude club rat females that you would ever see are at Gaspanic.

I also don't like the location. Probably better to take your date to the Dogenzaka area, because plenty of hotels around.

I tried this bar for 1st time at the weekend and liked it. It has happy hour till 9 PM with standard cocktails and draft beer in plastic cups for 500 yen but be warned these are shite low grade ingredients and better 2 buy something a bit more expensive in a proper bottle. This bar is a regular cafe during the day then turns into a DJ bar. Music is played quietly so that u can hear urself talking and mainly 90s oldies. It closes at midnite and the crowd then moves onto the clubs in Dogenzaka. Good place to bring a girl or try and hook up with one.
