Just thought I'd share this clipping. Probably nothing to be worried about, but could have an impact on supply. I had thought delivery places got around the law with the "whatever happens between consenting adults" argument.

The '42 year old customer' was probably a cop.

For deli health, the danger is on the shop- not us. Police can't raid a love hotel room if they suspect FS. However the police CAN call a shop pretending to be a punter, and then let the girl offer FS voluntarily as a store policy, and then voila- grounds for arrest.

Has there been reported cases where the customer gets arrested as well?

Deli health? No. But fashion health, and massage places/Esute with FS have been raided. The punters are lectured, shamed, and sent home. The girls and the manager are immediately arrested.

The reason why is that for fashion health, massage parlors and Esute shops, the FS happens IN the shop, and police have the right to raid the shop on grounds that they are violating their business permits.

The only 'safe' store to have FS in is a soapland in Yoshiwara, which as long as I can remember have never been raided by cops. (Other soapland- type service shops HAVE been raided- most recently in Kabukicho if memory serves).

If you are having FS in any place other than a love hotel room or Yoshiwara soapland, you run the risk of coitus interruptus by a faithful public servant.

It's true that Yoshiwara is expensive, and deli health is troublesome if your Japanese isn't so good over the phone, but it's 'safe' in respect to law at least.

The only way an escort service can come back on you is if the escort service itself is raided and the police find your records. While this is unlikely to happen in Japan, it has happened and some sports figures, rich men, and politicians were exposed for using high priced hookers. But in the end, their names were not published and have not heard much else about it. So there is that. But aside from that, the law is specific enough that the police cannot do much to two people in a hotel room.

I have heard these are immigration raids because these girls don't have legitimate working visas and only here on tourist visas.

Actually, it's illegal to engage in any sort of adult services (even working in bars) in Japan unless you are a citizen or permanent residency (spousal visas might work too). There are no 'legitimate work visas' for the sex trade in Japan.

Yeah, I thought there would be no working visas in relation to the sex trade, but I heard some have visas to work as something as like a massage therapist but I don't know the full validity on that claim. But as far as I have heard, these busts tend to mostly be under the reasons of immigration related and engaging in illegal sexual activity is like their probable cause.

From what I understand, these busts are rarely immigration related. I don't understand why some places get targeted while others are left alone. A lot of KDH seem to be employed by women on short term visas. The Chinese esute seem to have a lot of women with spouse visa. A majority of these women are married with kids.

Everytime I read something about a Korean services bust, it goes hand in hand with immigration about them not operating on any working visa what so ever.

In the case of delivery health, immigration doesn't bust the shop - they raid the "dorm" where the girls stay. Most of the Korean/Chinese places have the girls in a shared apartment or two. They only raid actual shops if the girls are working on premises.
