I've never used a love hotel so this might seem a little trivial to you guys but....

Do love hotels have telephones in them?

Not usually. (at least in my experience)

There is a phone, but it's really only to contact the front desk.

I've never tried to call out, never even bothered to try... at least that I can remember.

Maybe someone else has more information, but a good rule of thumb: Don't expect to have a telephone in the room that is for more than contact the front desk.

As already noted, I think the telephone in the room is only for talking with the front desk to extend your time etc...

I had a phone in my room at a love hotel in Shibuya. It took a minute to find it and I was having trouble dialing out so I called the front and asked. 9 for an outside line, apparently. They charged me 10 yen for the call on the way out.

Actually many/most do have outside line access, and you can in fact call out by dialing a "0" before your number. You'll have to pay for the call at the front desk when you leave, though. Some hotels might have limits on calls, but it will all be explained in the information booklet in the room.

I was reading a review of a delivery health shop and the client was slightly peeved that he had to fork up 40 yen when the provider called her shop using the room phone. And once many years ago when using a hotel for many hours on their "service time" plan, we ordered out for a pizza using the room phone because they had a setup where you could make food delivery calls for free!

Thanks man. I was really hoping to try a KDH while I'm here. I was trying to avoid renting a phone so hopefully I choose the right love hotel haha. Any love hotels you'd recommend? I am thinking about a 3some and after reading past reviews, I saw that some love hotels don't allow that? So any love hotel recommendations from the TAG community would be appreciated, hopefully in uguisudani.

I also have some soapland reviews on the way regarding kings club and I'll try and get those out once I can.

Appreciate the help guys.

Interesting...

There are some hotels that include food, I remember getting some sandwiches from a Dotour cafe.

The young, slightly embarrassed, pizza delivery guy actually came right up to our room door himself! Had to put on a towel to open the door....

Some fancier hotels now include a fancy "morning set" breakfast if you stay overnight. The place where we ordered pizza had a ton of delivery menus in the room.

I like the somewhat older style hotel with a real front desk / office, actual room keys, where you have to chat with the (usually) older women before you can head up to your room!

Most hotels will alloy 1 man / 2 women in a room, though often not the reverse. Whatever shop you use should be able to tell you what hotels are fine for a 3-some.

I'm not a KDH fan, but many other delivery health shops require you to have a cell phone number. At least the ones I have used. Even if you can call out with the hotel phone, it might not accept incoming calls directly. Those may get forwarded to the front desk. Just things to keep in mind.

If you use a "hotel health" shop, you can get everything set up (and pay) in person and then head to a nearby hotel / rental room. The shop may even help reserve that for you.

All of them have phones with outside access - it's required by law for any hotel license other than a penshon/minshuku - but many restrict outside dialing to 110/119 (emergency services).
