It looks like Trump will be re-elected again. The Democrats are making the same mistake as last time.

Bernie Sanders promises to wipe off all student debt. The rich lawyers and doctors will benefit. Students from poorer homes are more likely to have worked their asses off to pay for college so won’t get any benefit. The blue collar workers and lower middle class will flock to Trump in greater numbers.

The other candidates are more concerned with the rights of the illegal immigrants and building restrooms for the transgender community. The silent majaority don’t care about these issues.

The Harvard academic who pretended to be a red Indian seems to be one of the front runners....

Democrats find decent candidates or don’t complain when you lose again.

Agreed, frankly their line-up is not really impressive so far.
And let’s be honest, with Trump , America gives us the most fascinating 24/7 show ever.
News would be boring without him.

Worry about Boris and Brexit. The democrats will be just fine.

The “silent majority”? Do you work for Nixon now?

That said, most presidents are re-elected.

Don’t know about Boris but there is one Englishman I worry about now, that’s their Ambassador to the U.S! :D

Why cant the fucking dems come up with a contender? That young gay guy is the smartest and most articulate of the lot by a country mile, but he is too young and he is gay. Shit. Not an issue for me, but most of the socially liberal folks in the country see a gay POTUS as just too much of a problem. The country just isnt ready for it. Bernie is too old and I think he is getting senile because he only talks about one thing, incessantly. He is an old guy acting like an old guy! Someone tell him sto stop that! Kamala says she is black, but I dont think so. Can't trust her. Warren might be my choice after the gay guy. She is a tough bitch with a good head on her shoulders. But probably not quite tough or smart enough to be POTUS. Biden? He really fucked up the debate the other day. He is a disappointment. Trump might win it again. He just might.

Yeah but did you write somewhere in your post that « smart » is a requirement ? I think thats actually misogynistic. If we can have a not-so-smart male president (no matter the country) we should also be ok to accept a not-so-smart lady.
Even dumb as fuck one. I would have voted for Sarah Palin for instance

Anyone who is not white, male and over 50 is going to need to be better on all accounts. I would say this includes being smarter, and particularly in the case of women, tougher, and particularly in the case of minorities (blacks, gays, Kamala) more moral ( whatever that means). Meanwhile the old white dudes get a free pass on all kinds of shit. Imagine if Obama had had 5 kids from three women and if he had been caught saying similar shit to what Trump said on the bus? They would have forgotten him in a day. Welcome to White Old Rich America. They run it. They own it.

Hey Obama had huge scandals too... like... huh... this one :D

Or this one, particularly unforgivable....

Ok I must admit the 1775 Airports thing keeps me laughing all the time even at the office

If the Democrats would stop laughing to Trump and instead come up with a sensible candidate I think they might have a chance for the White House.

But I guess like in Europe they are too busy showing their higher intelligence and morality and telling other people they are dumb racists pieces of shit. Sheesh, cannot figure out why more people don't vote for them?

Well in my case I CAN’T vote for them anyway so let me laugh at least... In fact I don’t want the show to stop , heck I would even love to see Ivanka succeed him

I was given a good upbringing (it's not my mom's fault not much of that stuck with me) and so I know it is not in good manners to mock people with special needs.

And I will start paying attention to the show only when there is a possibility Ivanka would suck me.

Unfortunately, this is an area I operate in. I'm not a partisan individual but here's what you can look forward to.

1) Elizabeth Warren will win the Democratic nomination.

2) Trump will win the Republican nomination.

3) Trump will eviscerate her on stage at every single debate, mocking her, ridiculing her, and I expect he will get her to cry on camera.

4) Trump will then further rip her apart on Twitter, day after day, night after night. And the media will cover each and every letter of it, in an attempt to smear Trump, which will only end in Warren being painted as weak.

5) Trump will easily win a second term.

For all the stupid shit Trump says, he represents the opinions of the vast majority of Americans. Americans don't want "socialism." They don't want to pay 70% tax just for having a six-figure year. They don't want an open border and every starving migrant or drug mule from Mexico to Medellin able to walk, hobble, crawl or roll coming across the border unchecked and then they have to pay for it through tax increases or cutting services for Americans. Idiotic 17yo snowflakes may like this "everything is fucking free!" banner that Bernie and Warren and the rest of those alarmist losers are running on, but anyone who has ever had to file a tax return and work a 40-hour week and pay off credit card bills and student loans isn't going to buy that. And most of all, Americans are tired of being called "racist" or "bigots" just for looking after their own interests. Like it or not, the average American says: "If I work hard and make good money, that's my money and if you try to take it I'll fucking kill you and that's what my guns and lawyer are for." It isn't rocket science. One of my favorite quotes was from Clint Eastwood, when he was mayor of a small town in Carmel, when asked what his political ideology was: "Everyone leaves everyone else the fuck alone."

I didn't vote for Trump, I worked behind the scenes against his campaign, but I'm a political operator and deal in reality. While the Democratic party has devolved into a pathetic popularity contest running on moronic fantasy ideas, infatuation with Russia and an impeachment which will never happen, Trump has created an amazing economy, the lowest minority unemployment in decades and has the rest of the world walking on eggshells because who knows what the fuck this guy will do next. People are afraid of America again. Like it or not, that's good for my 401k and at the end of the day, people vote with their wallets.

Trump wins a second term. The more important question is, who succeeds him in 2024? That, to me, is a far more important question because I don't see a particularly compelling or capable candidate on either side of the aisle.

But then again, I started off my day today blowing a strained load all over my stomach while the other half laughed hysterically and then I started drinking at noon and spent most of the afternoon passed out in my underwear. Nobody should care what I think.

I must admit that the farthest « left » I ever voted is Macron (only because I can’t stand Le Pen) and compared to your current Dems he looks quasi-Reaganian and they look quasi-Communists. So that’s a problem.

You need a Dem who is unashamedly pro-Capitalism and pro-Rule of Law and anti-hippie nonsense. But also pro-Democracy and Atlantist coz I cannot believe the « average American » follows Trump re. his bashing of allies and bromances with Putin and Kim (The North-Korean one, for Kim Kardashian maybe its ok, Im not familiar enough with the average American’s psyche to judge on that :D)

Absolutely agree. And an indication of just how fucked up the current activist progressive Democrat base is...Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks and a brilliant man, went to a Democratic function and declared to the crowd that socialism is not the answer and will never work in America. The crowd went fucking apeshit, booing and screaming and throwing things. Howard Schultz, who grew up dirt fucking poor and through his own ingenuity built a global brand and made himself a billionaire. A guy who's passionate about upward mobility for working class families. A guy who, unlike Obama and Warren and Bernie and Harris just about all of these pompous jackasses, didn't grow up rich, didn't go to prestigious prep schools or Ivy League universities...this guy embodies everything that the Democratic Party used to stand for, and now they scream at him for championing capitalism as a vehicle for the lower/middle class to move upwards.

That's how you know Trump is going to win again.

Well, as long as he doesn’t push the nuclear button instead of the Diet Coke one... let the entertainment continue...

Basically @MossBoss has the right read.

Why cant the fucking dems come up with a contender?

Looks like @MikeH answered @warubuta for the most part but two things are really obvious right now:
  1. No one is in charge at the DNC, no one is reading the air, no one is looking long term. Two full jury benches worth of contenders and not a one of em really grabs people's attention.
  2. The DNC has a "its my turn now" problem the last few cycles. Who the hell thought Hillary or Kerry would be viable?
With their party in seeming chaos "anyone but Trump" is hardly a winning strategy. Where the hell is the organization that really got the Obama campaign moving like a shinkansen?

The more important question is, who succeeds him in 2024? That, to me, is a far more important question because I don't see a particularly compelling or capable candidate on either side of the aisle.

Thats probably the most important question and why the hell arent any of the "smart folks" who sleaze all over the OpEd columns of once reputable journals of opinion asking this?

But then again, I started off my day today blowing a strained load all over my stomach while the other half laughed hysterically and then I started drinking at noon and spent most of the afternoon passed out in my underwear. Nobody should care what I think.

Yeah maybe you spent your day jerking off and passing out drunk but you showed the one significant insight that none of the self proclaimed experts seem to be talking about. I salute you for that.

What actions specifically did Trump or any other presidient do to create a strong economy in his term? Hint: Its a rhetorical question and the answer is none. Do you think his tax breaks or trade war or anything else has had any positive or negative effect? Very, very unlikely. Although he is certainly taking credit for it. I would too. Other than that, solid work. What we need is a Democrat version of Trey Gowdy. Brilliant and vicious.

Come on America! It should not be that hard to produce a President which is not a laughing stock. But if it’s what you guys like , then bring it on!
Just one thing : don’t ever belittle the French again for our (admittedly not great) WW2 record if you are such a fan of a 5-times draft dodger for « bone spurs ». Your grand-parents were really the great generation. We are forever grateful to THEM. But don’t assume it’s automatically deserved for their descendents.

McCain was a true American hero. The fact that despite being a Republican he could not stand that guy (and its reciprocal) should speak volumes to the true patriots .

I thought I would never say that but here, frankly, there should be some limits to Brit-bashing! :D
I hope they will keep their Ambassador to DC as long as possible, just to show some pride.

Man ...
Looking at this picture, all I’m reminded is a scene in The Godfather. Specifically, what Clemenza told Michael the night before his meeting with Sollozzo and McCluskey, the corrupt police captain.

Clemenza: "You know you got to stop them at the beginning, like they should have stopped Hitler at Munich, They should never've let him get away with that. They were just asking for big trouble.”
