Hi, I am looking for a list/guide of happening bars for couples only in Tokyo. Does any one know where I can find that ?

Hi !! I am going to Tokyo next November. This list still exists ? I heard about some clubs like Silk, but there are very few comments, specially about the possibility of foreign males to come in and see Japanese girls. Is it real that some clubs are not allowed to foreign ?

If you are single and really want to check out kissa or happening bars, then I suggest you book a date with Manami (Tokyo Melty Kiss) and she will escort you for additional fee of 10,000 yen. Some of these places are members-only and she has access to the best ones.

Not to rain on anyone's parade here, but consider your looks before going to place like that. Even if you go with someone like Manami, doesn't mean you'll automatically have a good time. You need to have your own appeal to attract other girls if that's what you want. Manami or any other attractive woman like her, would draw many guys but their partner (female) may be reluctant if the other partner is really unattractive.

All I'm saying is, don't bother wasting your money if you have a hard time pulling regular Japanese girls off the street. You'll also have to face other foreigners there from time-to-time as well.

That all said, would love to hear about someone's experiences at thee clubs either with or without a paid escort. (Note: the Japanese guys sometimes bring paid J-girls as well..)

There is a list - let me dig it up and I'll post it after lunchtime.

I guess you didn't say which day's lunch you had in mind, but anyway, the list would be welcome if you get a chance to post it.

I'd also be curious about that list... I been in a shinjuku kind of bar like this, but police closed it.

Silk: Happening Bar

Olive: Couple Kissa (Need basic Japanese conversation and you need to be a couple to get in.)

These are two most well knnow. There are however a few other private ones I know of but don't have information on. If I get more info, I'll pass it along.

Does this imply that you can get into Silk (and perhaps other places) without any ability to speak Japanese? More generally, how common are gaijin customers in these places...the ones that will take gaijin at all that is?

It is my understaning that for Silk, you can get in without Japanese ability. But I wouldn't go there expecting anyone to speak English. It is Japan afterall...

Gaijin? I know that Japanese ladies will take their foreign boy-toy to these places. You won't see much of the reverse though. At Olive, I've heard recently that it is common to usually have one mixed couple in the group. Having a good looking partner will net you a lot more action than a partner of lesser attraction.

At Olive, they will tell you the rules verbally and you have to understand what they are saying before they'll let you in. Someone can correct me if this has since been changed.

Also, it is recommened to not bring any type of cell phone or camera. You will have to leave it with your clothes before they let you into the main hall. (Speaking of Olive again here...) You can store your stuff in a station locker or something to reduce any risk of losing your articles.

If I get any more info or remember something later, I'll pass it along.

That sounds spot on. there *were* some other clubs around a number of years ago, back when people were making ridiculous salaries. Those clubs either dried up (went belly up) or got shut down by the police.

Thanks again very much for the additional info; even a little bit of a clue can be a huge help in "unfamiliar waters", imo.

If I am lucky enough to make an evening at one of these places work out, it would likely be with a gaijin friend of mine who looks remarkably like (in body and face) the photo of Bar Refaeli shown here. So, I should get a big boost in the partner looks category, for her however, not so much... :D But in any case, we would be a gaijin-gaijin couple. Do you think it would be better to bring a Japanese date? That would be possible too, probably.

silk is pretty lame really. hit or miss but lots of single creepy Japanese guys. the set up is good but rarely (except for parties) is there anything going on. Although I have been there before 12 and there was some excitement on one occasion. One kinda fugly woman who couldn't have sex with her husband was talking dirty to me while a hot young chick was sitting on the floor with rosary beads and a negligee on but after last train it all dried up. I did get laid though by a chick with a hot body but I am not sure if she was staff or not. You could bounce a quarter off that ass.

I have been in Silk twice.
I can not agree more Japanese guys are more creepy
but I heard some are really weathy. Those come with their lover/mistress.
Still hard to get those girls.I will not watse my time in Silk again, It is not worth.

I went to Silk last Thursday (June 16, 2011) and it was closed. Does anyone know what happened?

The top page of their site says that they have closed, and are having a farewell party on Friday, June 24th. People who want to participate have to send them a mail (use the link on the last line of their Japanese top page) and include their "handle".

Seriously?

Shit... I hadn't checked.

Silk has closed but I've been told that a new club has opened in the same place. Not sure of the details though.

Silk is closed. Anyone know if the managers of Silk have opened another place and where?
