It would be great, imo, to have a TAG list of gaijin-friendly love hotels or a thread (this one will do) in which people post one or a few of their favorites with a little info - prices, policies, decor etc. No big review needed, just a few lines would be helpful. And, if possible, a link of course or some info on how to locate the place.

This is would, of course, be useful not only from a commercial sex perspective but also for recreational, romantic etc sex...so we can all contribute and benefit.

It has been talked about. We weren't sure how to approach it, without leaving out-of-date information posted all over the place.

One of the things we noticed, is that some love hotels change names or disappear and then reappear as something else.

I had suggested that we cover the hotels by areas. The core love hotels are going to be in Shibya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and the Ueno/Nippori areas. There's only ONE love hotel in Roppongi. (I believe it's still there anyway!) Then there are those hotels that are only for working girls and their clients. Those usually show up for 3-4,000 yen or so... easy to spot. I hang out in Kabukicho, scouting girls and I've noticed a very regular pattern of girls and where they go.

That said, I have a few favorites myself.

Are there gaijin-unfriendly love hotels? I've never come across any... Mind you, most of my encounters have been together with a Japanese speaker. But most don't require much if any Japanese - a simple "Stay" or "Rest", and if you don't understand the Yen amount, a calculator will soon be waved under your nose...

My home ground is the Dogenzaka, Shibuya. Typically I'll just wander the Love-Hotel Hill and find something that is cheap (prices vary according to time of day and how busy they are) and that looks clean - I've never had a really bad one. But if I feel like impressing and splashing out JPY10,000 or more, I'll get a cool room at the P&A (http://www.paplaza.com/) or at Hotel Art (Hotel Art Tokyo, Shibuya-ku, Dogenzaka 2-26-2, Tel. (03) 3780-6211)

Never had a problem getting into a love hotel as of yet. The rooms with the automated machines, you should undertand how they work before you try to go without a person who can read Japanese. (They do speak to you, so understanding Japanese is probably ok too.)

The P&A Plaza hotel was recently renamed to S&K Plaza I think? Not the one in your link... but another one in Shibuya.

I've been suckered into this project.

You will find me walking around Shinjuku and Shibuya in the coming weeks, gathering some intel. (Obvious white guy with an iPad & and camera walking around alone in the love hotel districts!)

I will gather:

Names, General Pricing & Style of Hotel. After that, Eliah will have some type of directory or review system up to hold this stuff.

My personal favorite LH: Bali An. There is a thread by Mark floating around about it, I think.

good for you... hope you have a partner in crime in order to make these full reviews - ie test those waterbeds! We also want to know how gaijin-friendly they are with respect to ordering maids outfits, condom re-supply (extra-large please!) and quality of supplied toothbrushes.

have fun, we are awaiting your report :)

We are putting together a site for just this. There will be hotel listings and the ability for user feedback, all in English. The site will also host information regarding fuuzoku, and an adult content section for paid subscribers.

It's work in progress - more on it later!

Is there any "quiet" love hotel, not in Shibuya or SHinjuku? I know one in Muguro, but looking for change!

They are spread out in some other areas.

Most notably, there are some in Uguisudani. (JR Yamanote line, just north of Ueno)

Roppongi has two love hotels, I think.

Gotanda has some as well.. (JR Yamanote line, southwest of Shinagawa)

And of course, legendary Ikebukuro. Home to many Japanese services and Lovel Hotels.

Since J-girls cosplaying is one of my favorite things in the world, I think including info on which love hotels offer costume rentals would be nice. I've only been to a few love hotels myself, but I've never noticed if they had costumes for rental or not.

Not that I was looking particularly hard, as I'm always "distracted" when at a love hotel. :)

Looking for a good L-Hotel in Nippori. By good I mean recent building, not too flashy decoration, and a spacious bathtub.
Thanx for any hint.

Anyone has tried the B-Girl?

There's a nice love hotel map site that's in Japanese:

http://lovehomap.com/

The only love hotel I've been to so far that I wouldn't say is fully "gaijin friendly" was Hotel Wako in Kabukicho, and that is because it's more like a standard hotel where you pay and pick up the key from a real person (requiring Japanese language skills). They had no problem with me coming in there with an AM girl, though.

I'm personally looking for love hotels that have mirrors near the bed. Anyone know of one of those?

Hi All,

I am quite new here in Tokyo and I am looking for a love hotel close to Shinagawa station. Are there any of those or any recommendation?

Thanks in advance.

From Shinagwa, Shibuya is your best bet. There are tons of hotels on the love hotel hill as they call it. I don't remember if Shinagawa has any love hotels, but I'll check.

Mirrors..... Not sure if you ever found one but I think Hotel Forson had a few mirrors in some rooms, I'll check my pictures and see.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me which LH's are better, Shibuya or Shinjuku

And which ones have a decent price and a decent atmosphere, thanks guys

Some follow up for those that are interested. There's some places that advertise mirrors as an option. sites like http://www.love-hotels.jp/tokyo even have it as a search term, it seems: 鏡張り, which means 'mirror style' room. Be careful because some of the hotels I found are mirror style, but the mirrors are all frosted. I don't really see the point. :D The nice thing is if you go to the LH's official website, they'll often have pictures of every room, so you can see which one you like best. There's one in Uguisudani called Lux that has some nice mirrors right next to the bed, but only in about 4 or so of their rooms.

There's no real difference between Shibuya and Shinjuku except which one is more convenient. I think the vast majority of LHs in both places are mid- to upper end. No real super-cheap ones. I can't really speak to any in Shibuya, and the few that I've been to in Shinjuku are either pricey or require Japanese ability. Maybe others will chime in.

I haven't found a decent LH in Uguisudani yet. Considering it probably has the highest concentration of LHs in the world there must be some good ones, but they renovate the front of the building of old hotels and the rooms are pretty shitty.

Yup, but I think the quality of LHs depend on the part of town you are in. Shinjuku and Shibuya are the night life areas closest to the really nice parts of town, and Uguisudani is not. Given that's where a lot of the foreign DHs are (Hipness, KDHs, etc) those are the places where guys go looking for a bargain.

No need to go to Shibuya. Just two stops from Shinagawa is Gotanda, with a whole bunch of LHs right next to the tracks.

Also agree that Gotanda has a good selection of LHs.

Two that come to mind are the Luxe and Nox.

Have used the Nox and it was good.

I think these are in the same group along with the Velare in Ebisu which I believe is also good, have not used myself.

Good to hear about Luxe and Nox. Are they on the south exit side of the station, aka along the tracks? There is another one there that used to be good (I only managed to get in once, it seems popular), called "Seeds".
Do Luxe and Nox have a nice big ofuro and a mat for slippery jelly play? I always like that :)
"B-side" does in its larger rooms, which is another reason I like that one.

The Velare in Ebisu is definitely good. (For the more expensive rooms at least; i think I paid about 8000 or so. Don´t know about the cheaper ones.)

Yes, they are long the train tracks to the west and south of the station.

The bath at the Nox was a good size. Plenty of room for 2. Don't recall them having mats. Have not used the Luxe.

SN...

Ebisu:

Hotel Luxe near Ebisu JR east exit is good.

There is 3 very close together. The other is Hotel Us and Hotel Heart.

But not good for swingers, as a 3rd party can't walk in. They all have nosey staff by the door. However, all 3 have nice rooms and very short walk from train station.

Kawasaki:

Hotel Lotus, in Kawasaki near JR Kawasaki train station, East exit. Kawasaki HUB (British pub) is also nearby.

This is a very interesting area in general, that I recommend adventurous guys check out. Has deai cafes (Kirari - http://goo.gl/maps/B4gvH ) and all kinds of places of interest in the area, in addition to lots of restaurants.

I became familiar with, as was meeting some women from Yokohama. As I'm Tokyo, decided on a half way point. This increased my hit ratio greatly, as some women from Kanagawa or Yokohama think Tokyo is too far, but WILL go to Kawasaki (15 minutes from Yokohama station).

Other hotels in the area:

. Doors hotel

(Not exact. Near Grog's dining, make a right. Close by)

. Daiwa Roynet (not specifically a love hotel, but cheap and clean).
