    Best Burger chain in Japan?

Thank you. I grew up with Dom Dom, and that's always the best Japanese burger to me (despite the number of outlets now is a fraction of what used to be). Mos was way better many years ago, constantly disappont me whenever I return.

My dumb gaikoku-jin ass went to Tokyo for nothing

My concern is that this company has nothing to do with SoftBank. You can pick up a Mobal SIM in Tokyo, too.

The most Japanese way to talk to shops

It would be like this? お世話になります。予約でお願いします。〇〇さん指名希望なんですが、今日の予約できますか?

Is there anything at all in Roppongi?

    1. Hail a taxi 2. Tell the driver you want to go to <Shop's name> in Yoshiwara (Taito-ku, Senzoku 4-chome, to be precise) 3. Get off the taxi in front of the shop. Taxi drivers know the location very well.

I guess another first timer question thread, Tokyo

Please. All replies here alreay have pointed out that it's part of Tokyo. Cut and paste and search "Senzoku 4-chome, Taito-ku, Tokyo" on google map then you can see a square-shape area which is called "yoshiwara" that is the old historical name of the district. It's actually north of Asakusa.

Stupid jokes to lighten the mood, or no?

For DATY, you could have said "いただきます...また、いただきます" (Dad joke in Japan, 1938)。

Stupid jokes to lighten the mood, or no?

A sincere お願いします at the start will do. It's a proper way of showing your respect to the provider, but also sounds a bit funny for the logic you presumed.

    Which Personal Pronoun to Use

Some people (mostly male) still use "jibun" (an old military term). The problem is that it means " I " in Kanto but "You" in Kansai.

    JR pass price increases

If a new pass would allow the pass holder to travel on Nozomi trains without surcharges, the price hike might be justifiable, but it says a pass holder must purchase an additional ticket on the pass to travel on a Nozomi train. I wonder why they complicate things after all.

How high (or low) can the yen go?

I am bullish on JPY. Honestly, I lost a lot in May-June last year for my wrong belief that JPY would regain 110/$ quickly, but adjusted my positions and got a good recovery affter that. What happened last year was so-called "DXY bubble" where people speculated on DXY (US Dollar Index) like other...

    The Yoshiwara Soapland Resource Thread

10pm is too late for a walk-in. By law, all SL staff have to vacate the premises by midnight. It's a weird rule but strictly observed for SLs to remain legal.

Suiren (SL) Suiren - Airi - Reasonable

and it used to be a Japanee only shop. It was for old wealthy Japanese who wanted a simple 120-minute play with a young slim girl with less experience in the industry (the client profile was the same as neighboring Picasso). It's good to know that the shop now opens to non-Japanese though.
