Movies/Shows You Wish Were On Netflix

The FX series Fargo isn't on Netflix because Hulu has the rights to it for the next three years.

It's on par with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul if you ask me. In terms of employing a unique and captivating method of storytelling, it is probably superior.

Are we talking about just the Japanese version of Netflix?

I usually stick with the U.S. version via a VPN since the JP Netflix directory is pretty thin.

That said... I stil wish there were more shows, both old and new. I'd actually like to see more Discovery Channel type shows...

Meanwhile.. I have nearly 8 terabytes of media collected over the last 10 years, lol.

Sorry Hana! ;;

Stateside, I'd cut the cord completely if there was a la carte sports. Most everything is on Netflix or some of the new internet plans (take your pick from PlayStation, YouTube's new TV offering, etc), plus HBOnow, etc.

It took them around six months to block my VPN provider after their initial announcement but then I couldn't find a way to switch between JP and USA offerings and cancelled my subscription.

How do you still manage to see US content?

I'm paying a percentage of a Verizon FIOS connection to a friend in the states. :) I get my own DMZ address w/router to control with VPN function.
If they start blocking Verizon FIOS, there will be an uproar. haha.

Adding:
However... if they (Verizon) start being little bitches about the upstream bandwidth usage, then we'll have a problem. But they shouldn't... we don't burn that much data anyhow.

Mildly interested in Game of Thrones (although it seems a lot to catch up with) so that is one. And this show called Empire sounds interesting to me, its also not a netflix show, right.

As for movies, netflix has a lot, but many of the most famous and best movies they dont have, thats why i bought a box with all Harry Potter movies together in it, and thats why i still go to Tsutaya to watch famous movies, like when i started to watch the X men series recently (i should have watched it much earlier, its perfect).

I'm so far behind on Game of Thrones... I wish Netflix would make it available online instead of just on DVD (since I switched to the online only subscription) :-(

I've been on an old school kick recently and started watching the old tokusatsu shows I grew up with like Kikaider, Inazuman, and all the Kamen Riders starting with the Showa Era. It would be great to have all of those on Netflix instead of having to track them down through BT. Anyone know where I can find episodes of Robocon ? ;-)

Typhoon is driving me nuts. Signed up for the one month free trial of Netflix (Japan) today. What are your top 5 shows on Netflix JPN?

Surprised to see The Bridge(Scandi) and Peaky Blinders (UK) on Netflix Japan -- both brilliant shows.

Right now.... I'm just catching up on some of the Marvel series. There's some new stuff coming in October that I'm looking forward to. I think Mindhunter is one of them,

Best part about Netflix is you can get a VPN and change the content to the country of your choice. Don't need separate account for different countries.

I'm otherwise watching American Vandal, Narcos, The Americans among others.

House of Cards is a good one too. You need to start from season 1 though.

Thanks for the tip. I have the VPN. I 'll see what I can find. Didn't look like Netflix JPN was going to keep me occupied beyond 30 days....but maybe the US site has better options for me.

Still haven't finished the first season of Daredevil, haven't even gotten to Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones & The Defenders. I heard the premiere of Inhumans was a bust.

Right now the wife and I are hooked on Once Upon A Time and just started watching Terrace House.

I'm on season 2 of Daredevil. The whole Fisk chapter closes. I started Defenders but I think that was a mistake since i haent caught up with Daredevil and Luke Cage. Iron Fist and the others, I'm up to date on.

Once Upon A Time - same series from American broadcast TV?

To the other poster about the VPN, U.S. version just has more TV and movie options. The Netflix original content is the same for JPN and US, at least as far as i can tell.

I also use HBO Now and of course finished Game of Thrones, Westworld and Silicon Valley. Vice Principles is a bit on the loopy side, but something to watch while doing work or some other mundane task.
