Some members might be interested and saddened to know that Gilbert Baker has passed away. Unknown to most people, he was the creator of the first rainbow flag to represent the LGBT community.

Even if you are not a member, his creation has become a powerful symbol for respect. Today my avatar is sporting my natural pink, purple and blue to show solidarity with my brothers, sisters and everyone in-between.

Peace and love (and hot sex too - unless you are asexual)

IMO One of the biggest mistakes of LGBT is including females in that group. As in lesbians and bisexual females, biologically born females. They have Different needs and are persecuted, bullied, harmed differently than the other stereotypes in that group. For example, lesbians and bisexual females can be victims of rape way more often than the other stereotypes.

So if Ellen DeGeneres speaks up on the LGBT issue, the burden of having to defend gay and bisexual men is put unfairly on her shoulders just because she's famous. Keep in mind that she probably has little knowledge about the discrimination these men are going through, especially male to female transsexuals.

I'd scrap the rainbow flag symbol, and let each stereotype have their own symbol, just like Quietlife's avatar, whatever that means.

BTW, several nights ago, I got hold of insider info that TAG may soon be restricting discussions about politics, religion, and other sensitive issues like LGBT, so enjoy this topic while it lasts.

Hello,

I would like to add some comments here.

You said:

I said via private message:
In the new content guidelines that are currently being drafted, stronger language is being applied to discussion about gay, lesbian, transgender and political topics.
I would like to clarify that we are adding protections for LGBT discussions and restricting politically related threads, to be clear.

We are nearing a final draft on these new rules.

A perhaps appropriate time to again listen to this (to the end!):

Disclaimer: I have absolutely nothing against LGBT people. And why not having a flag indeed, it's a beautiful one.
However can someone explain me how they justify having LGBT-only bars (or gays only or lesbians only etc) and at the same time making a tantrum when they feel discriminated in non-LGBT places? If I go to a gay bar with a girlfriend and they kick us out, can I sue for discrimination against heterosexuals?
This is just to make a little extra-controversy of course (apologies to TAG Manager :D)

I'm just going to go ahead put the brakes on right here.

The majority of bars/clubs don't care one way or the other. There are always exceptions: If some bar doesn't want business from patrons with money, then take your money somewhere else. This applies to all groups of people that are trying to go to a gay/lesbian club or a straight one. Speak with your wallet....
