As an Asian guy (looks very Japanese/Chinese/Korean tho) who speaks in English, and a little bit of Japanese, it seems that it's hard to hit on girls from what I've heard. Is this true? Is there a way around it?
Would it be better for me to speak in English or in broken Japanese (by broken Japanese, I mean I've lived in a small city in Japan for 6 months, my level is around conversational N3 or even N2, but not very confident)?
I'm in my early 20s trying to get girls (young ones if possible, tho i don't mind mid or late 20s), what would be your recommendation?
Would going to a club in Shibuya be the best bet?
I need advices.. Are there any other non Japanese Asians here?

I was in Hub (a pub) in Ikebukuro (but they have many locations). Noticed many young girls who come in groups, also noticed many single guys there. Very nice atmosphere. Was talking to girls within 20 minutes.

Another place I like to visit are open Izakayas, so your not sitting in a small room, but more a open boot. You'll be surprised how fast you can flirt with the girls sitting opposite of you.

I think we should seek out some of these Hubs together, I literally live 3mins from them in Ikebukuro lol

I think actually Asian-looking guys often do really well, better even than many other foreigners. I recall one field report on the old J-lair forum site where one guy, a Hawaiian Filipino guy who spoke next to zero Japanese went out one day hitting the streets and station hard and pulled 4 girls back to Karaoke and had sex with them there. In a single day. So yeah, I definitely wouldn't worry about your Asian appearance. If anything, it might be helping you.

Additionally, I wouldn't worry about your language ability - use whatever you can to get your meaning across. As for recommendations.. I always suggest street, but it can be intimidating for some guys. Most, actually, at the beginning. But some like @Shades Of Jae get rather good at it quite quickly. It just depends how much of an open mind and willingness to get rejected quite a lot towards the beginning you bring to the table. If your ego is fragile or you're too proud or skittish, you probably won't handle the streets very well. But I've seen all types learn. Clubs can work as well, but you'll find many more party girls here.. I actually think it's harder here unless you're naturally quite energetic and a "life of the party" type dude.

All 4 at the same time?!?!? ;)

Asian guy here. Will be here till before Xmas and looking for any pick up buddies here. Drop me a PM or line me @Zeldor.

The most important thing is your personality. I wouldn't worry about your race. I am Asian myself, so that's not a problem. As long as you give off good, chill vibes, girls will naturally open up to you because they feel comfortable.

It took me waaaaaaay too long to learn this, but with the right attitude, anything is possible with pickup. I'm texting a 10 (my taste, of course) right now and we'll meet up when I'm in town. If you asked me a few months back, I would've told you that was impossible. Taking rejection personally, getting easily offended or annoyed, being insecure, you have to let all that shit go and just relax and have fun.

Bars and cafes are the easiest for me, and I used to practice in those when I was getting started. Even now they're my go to choice. I get a lot of Japanese people and sometimes tourists coming up to me to ask for directions and photos, so I use that to open when it happens.

Where do you go to get a lot of people asking you stuff??

If you want to sleep with women in Tokyo:

Learn Japanese to N3 level.
Read @Sinapse site through 3 times.
Go out with someone who will push you.

My Japanese is good, I listened to guys who know, and was fortunate to have friends foreign and Japanese who kept the pressure on.

Street is a lifechanging thing. No stinking cigarettes and bumbling fools either.

I have done pick up back in my home country but the problem with pick up here I feel is the language barrier. I am N3 certified (just took N2) but can't speak for nuts. And the only way to improve is to speak more, yet I can only attract people for a short time with my simple Japanese phrases if I go full on Japanese speaking.

Read through Sinapse site and understood the concepts as I worked on my inner game and did pick up for a good 3 months before coming to Japan and man is the weather and the language barrier brutal.

How do u get a girl who says she knows no English to open up to you even when u continue speaking English?

Out of the house
I get asked at all kinds of places, but of course Shinjuku and Shibuya are the two places where I've been asked the most.

You know how if you want to ask for directions or pictures, you see a certain type of person and think, "Ah, I should ask them."
I guess I look like that :snaphappy:

There are several really good ones in Ginza under the train tracks for that. I was there back in August, went there with a German friend of mine just to eat and drink, but we wound up going to Bee Darts with a couple of girls at the table next to ours.

We ended up staying out until the trains started running the next morning. Fun times!

I really like Bee Darts too. It is a prime example of a corporate chain type bar, but they have created a fun atmosphere in their bars.

Mechanically, you can speak slowly, clearly, lose the slang, etc. Remember, everyone in this country has 6+ years of English education. Try and find the English words that are commonly used in Japanese (western loan words) and work those into your dialogues. The more buzz words she knows, the more likely it is that she'll understand you.

That said, it's mostly bullshit. The reality is, some girl you talk to on the street isn't going to strain her brain trying to remember her high school English classes unless you give her a good reason to, no matter how much you try to make your English understandable. So what's going to give her motivation is your frame, your mood, the feelings you're projecting. I'd focus your effort there, then the communication comes across much easier. Remember, 90% of all human communication is non-verbal.

Personally, I spent my first couple years hanging out with Japanese guys and their friends, which is how I learned to speak as well as I do. Talk to guys at the bar, exchange info and hang out with em in your free time. International parties are actually pretty good for this too.

If that is your true level of Japanese, you are equipped with enough language ability to reel in a J-chick.
Well at least my Japanese Teacher and friends said so. People often mistake me for a Japanese if I don't tell them upfront, but personally I think there's still a lot of room for improvements. But I heard that most Japanese girls want to learn English, I figured I should talk to them in English (to make them stay maybe?)

Sorry bro, not in Tokyo yet.

What would you recommend for a beginner, with lack of self confidence and experience. I've never done things like this before. (I don't mind going to clubs, etc). And which club/bar would you recommend (I heard Shibuya got a lot of JK, but not that easy to get, are they more close minded abt sex? or are they virgins?).

What should I do once I get to the club? Hold a conversation with lots or just one girl? (Would they be the "this guy talks to many girls, he's a player, not gonna bounce with him" type)? What if the girl I'm interested is within a group of friends? Should I just suddenly join in?

What about bars/izakayas? Should I just order a drink and suddenly hold a conversation with someone?

I'm currently reading your web, but some are still unclear to me (I'm a newbie). I'll be in tokyo for around a week, so I'm hoping I can learn fast.

Man I would love to get into the nampa game, but i hardly have any experience with girls and I don't think I have the confidence to pull it off. Never have been in a relationship and p2p has been my only way to get close to girls in an intimate way. Maybe one day...

Cool thing about nampa is it's a way specifically to get more experience and confidence with women than you otherwise would. You don't need the experience or confidence first

I speak Japanese but I always pretend I don't, the results are way better.

don't be stingy with words mate, I can't always read your mind :D

Basically, a form of selection bias. Which women you are going after has a large effect on the English / Japanese dynamic. Many girls @Shades Of Jae and myself go after will violently oppose any attempt to use English, as if it were a poop stain on your forehead.

A large amount of Japanese women want to speak English. Depends on who you target - target selection

I get your point (I suspected that was what you meant but I wanted to be sure).

the Japanese women I've "been after" were the ones I thought were cute. beside that I don't think there is a pattern in their type. if there is a form of selection it must be in the approach way. I'm not a PUA and I don't accost girls on the street. the usual places I "picked up" in are places like parks, beach, train and other places favorable to eye contact and subtle communication before the move toward that I'm not necessarily the one to make. I pretend I don't speak Japanese and use English although it's not my first language because I've noticed that puts me us at least in an equal situation if not a situation in which I'm playing home (soccer reference). The best results were with girls with really bad English.

but each experience is different, what works for me may not work for someone else and as I said I'm not a PUA and can't give any tutorial.

Are most of them OLs, students, or normal baito type jobs (cafe, karaoke, etc)?

You talk to women in public places, which makes you somewhat of a pua ;)

Yeah, if you warm up your approach and do it casually / incidentally there's less pressure and need to make a fast and powerful impression.

I agree that speaking English gives you a bit of an advantage, and they're on the back foot and working extra hard to understand and speak as well. It can be an effective tactic, to be sure.

Now try it on a kyabajo on her way to work ;)

no pattern noticed, all were from various background.

there is an A in PUA and I'm nothing like an Artist in the Pick Up field. I don't want put my self under pressure nor try to make a fast and powerful impression, I don't think I have what it takes to do it this way.

I also would never try to pick up a kyabajo, I've never been to kyabakura and it's not somewhere I'd want to go.

Don't judge the kyabajyo's. Most of them are incredibly wise socially, and employed specifically for their looks. Many of them make a very successful living and can often be quite educated as well. Meaning, by Japanese societal standards, they are the creme of the crop.

Pick up artistry isn't really anything special, it's just unapologetically being yourself and expressing yourself to the girl. Nothing magical about it. Most people seem to imagine it as Mystery going out in his feather boa and pink slippers doing magic tricks to girls at the bar, but if you watch some of the videos Sinapse put up, you'll see it's nothing like that.
