I’m looking for a good Japanese grammar book. Not the JLPT books but more like a summary book. Can be English or Japanese.
I do have my minna no nihongo books but they are crap when it comes to grammar explanation.... I’m looking for something like grammar drilling etc.
I would like to review some grammar up to JLPT N2.

@Manami TMK gave me a recommendation a long time ago, but I can't recall the name of it. Maybe she has some idea or good idea?

This is a grammar dictionary and not a textbook, but this is the best. There are 3 volumes, basic, intermediate and advanced

A Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar

3A Network has several grammar books to review the more difficult aspects of Japanese: http://www.3anet.co.jp/ja/148/

Unfortunately there are no good grammar books in German for advanced learners. "Igelfisch macht kugelrund" offers some explanation for common problems, but it's not a dictionary.

Yes, these books are probably the best reference for contemporary Japanese grammar but there are no drills.

Strange enough - I`ve posted the links to Amason, but they are not shown here, probability are taken as spam?

It seems they are still there; but just don't show up in the post. If you quote it you'll find all the products IDs.

Absolutely!

Get the first two. If you ever need the 3rd you'll be reading Japanese grammar books!

unless you're adamant about buying books i wouldnt waste money when we have the internet

the best q/a site, hands down
https://japanese.stackexchange.com/

reliable
http://www.jgram.org/index.php

maybe if you skim it 5min a day you can find something useful
https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/

the hello talk app is also really useful, i'd say. you get natives to correct your japanese, for free

I love https://japanese.stackexchange.com/

I have been addicted to this site for a couple years now lol.

Also, jissho.org is such a great online dictionary!

jisho.org is easy to use but i've found it to give me awkward results sometimes. it doesn't at all take into consideration that sometimes a word may have a more or less equivalent meaning in english but totally different usage in japanese. weblio (or another online jp dictionary) is a lot better IMO

I use weblio all the time as well. It is definitely a lot better when I want more in depth explanations. The "new version" (couple years ago) of Jisho.org does have some cool features though.

You actually need to buy as many books as possible. Different books are good at helping with different things. For example some books clearly explain something but don't give good examples and miss out some important stuff.

I really like the explanations in "minna no nihongo". Do you have both the native language book that goes along with the Japanese language book?
