Hey TAG, I've been a long time lurker and off of the forums for a long while since I haven't been to Japan in a while. I'm around my mid-to-late 20's and I was last in Japan studying abroad about 5 years ago.

I've studied Japanese for about 8 years and lived and worked there for about a year and a half. I just wanted to introduce myself and also request some decent recommendations for my first return back in half a decade. My Japanese level is probably good enough to pass JLPT N2 (if I had the same zeal towards passing that as much as I do for BBBJs) and I have some Western features but can pass for half, but can anyone recommend some good places for me if I'll be around Ota? I'm willing to commute out to Yokohama, Kawasaki, and the Tokyo area.

So I've been to New Hot Point, Jan Jan, and Happy Hinomaru. NHP and Jan Jan were both ehhh experiences for me and 5 years back there was this cute 20-something named Serena/Serina who was my ATF at Hinomaru, but she's since disappeared (and probably for good reason from what I've been hearing as she was WAYY too cute for that place).

I was thinking about checking out Kawasaki Flamingo, Yokohama Pink Star or Ikebukuro's 1919. Any tips or additional recommendations if I'm looking for a cute 20-something that gives BBBJ for a good value?

Furthermore, I'm thinking about moving back to the area in perhaps the next year or two and just got out of a messy divorce, so I'm looking to see how the dating/pick-up scene is. I heard decent things about HUB in Shinjuku, but again any recommendations are appreciated. Looking forward to being part of the TAG community hopefully!

よろしくお願いします!

In Yokohama near Hinodecho train station there are a lot of fashion health clubs (in Akebonocho 3-chome) which of course feature BBBJ and the girls are usually really young and cute. Which ones, if any, allow foreigners seems to be an ever changing shell game. Level of Japanese ability doesn’t seem to matter but if you can visually pass for Japanese at least enough to get the tout to nod to you initially so you can whip out your fluency on him and keep him guessing as to your nationality you will probably do OK. I was walking through there only yesterday, and surprised to find that the tout at Club Dandy gave me a bow and a hearty いらっしゃいませ! No shop in the Dandy chain (and they used to run several within a few blocks of each other in that area) has ever welcomed me before, some adamantly giving me the X when I was bold enough to approach uninvited. Considering Tokyo has more and more predictably gaijin friendly places than Yokohama, I’m not sure it’s worth a dedicated trek. But if you’re in the area anyway it is well worth wandering by.

Yes, indeed. I believe even though Yokohama has less fuzoku places where you can go and have some fun, at least from my personal experience, is easier to find young and cute girls in an "average place" in Yokohama than in Tokyo.

I suspect the day that the tout at Club Dandy invited you in, was extremely slow day for business. I was denied of service at Yokohama Dandy because of my "deficient Japanese language skills" explaining that the girl will feel uncomfortable servicing me, actually 99% of the times I get rejected from a fuzoku place they have been extremely polite with cheap excuses such as "we are overbooked, 3 hours waiting time...", only at Apple Melon Soapland the tencho was rude, gave me the cold shoulder saying: "Sorry, Japanese only", even didn't care to look at me again.

I always play the extremely shy and kind of socially odd Japanese guy behavior and it has worked out most of the times. The less I talk, better!

Always prefer Japanese independent girl... Having to speak/interact with a man before having fun with a woman is just too weird for me...

Yeah, this always bugs me too. Especially when the guy isn't catching on that I understand every word he's saying and he pantomimes a BJ.
