Everything 90's

Again, 10 things i hate about you (at the very end of the 90s)
Seriously one of the best romantic movies ever. Heath Ledger is not really my type, but his smile and great acting win me over in every movie of him i see and i’m still mad he died.

My favorite part in that film. Yup, heath was an incredible actor (he is completely unrecognizable in the Dark Knight) I had a crush on julia stiles at that time. still do.

It was one of those beach resorts at this town called Currimao.
I wouldn’t mind visiting that place again.
Whoa! you weren't kidding when you said north. I have never been that far north. I have never been to ilocos norte (nor ilocos sur) Actually this is the first time I've heard of currimao. I had to look it up.

The sea must be incredibly clear there.

When I go diving I usually go to Anilao (Batangas) or to Subic Bay (Grande Island). But the sea in anilao is clearer.

It was a lovely place. Of course, I remember it now as quite magical because of my companion.
But getting there by car from Manila at that time was quite a long haul.
Hopefully, transport infrastructure has improved over the past two decades.
Traveling overseas in the 90s — way before online travel sites, budget carriers, smartphones, Wi-fi, mobile payments, ride-sharing, Airbnb and TAG — was a major, major adventure. I loved it.

Unfortunately, the traffic has worsened in the big cities especially in manila during the christmas season.

I think there is a ferry now from manila to currimao [not really sure, i'm just assuming based on the pic]. And apparently they installed mini windmills (makes sense, typhoons aren't so bad in that area)

From what I remember, there is so much to love in that part of the country.
Maybe I’ll head back there one day.

Yeah, after seeing these pics I should go there too. Vigan (in Ilocos sur, maybe you went past this town on the way to Ilocos Norte)

Beautiful. Just beautiful.
There were certainly no wind turbines in the 90s.
You are right those are wind turbines and not wind mills.

I think they put up those large wind turbines in pagudpud around 00s.

anyway, back to the 90s...

My favorite videogame: Starcraft

I almost always use the zerg when playing.

Travelling on the job in the 90s also opened my eyes to dressing up and fashion. The guy I looked up to was Tom Ford.
The American designer’s campaigns and collections during his 10 years at Gucci were absolutely fabulous, delivering an aesthetic that had been emulated in his industry.
I neither could afford Gucci at that time nor pretend to look like someone who would be comfortable wearing any of its clothes, but the stuff Ford created gave me something to aim for. And I believe that I’ve channeled my aspirations the right way over the years.
Here are some of Ford’s outstanding campaigns in the 90s:

Just watched Good Will Hunting (1997) on HBO, and now I can’t get the film’s end-credits song, “Afternoon Delight”, out of my head.
Hopefully, this won’t last the whole weekend.
So I googled that shit, found the video and decided to share it here on TAG, my preferred coping ecosystem:

Bonus — the Will Ferrell version from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy:

In the early 90's I was running CATIA on a mainframe system. Pretty much state-of-the-art for the time but Jurrasic when you look at the technology.
I wasn't trained to use CATIA, I have heard of it though.

When I started with AutoCAD it was R13. The DOS version

That's the reason why I still use the command line and DOS commands.

Father Ted. I remember the death of Dermot Morgan was sort of shocking news to me because it happened right before the series 3 was scheduled to be aired.
