Good evening~

Would anyone here know where I could get a MasterCard debit/prepaid card? I currently have Visa and JCB cards and thought that would be enough.. but I was wrong. An advertisement site I use only accepts either Bitcoin or MasterCard payments. Since I’ve had bad luck with BTC recently, I would like to try the other option.

Thanks in advance!

What happened with BTC? It’s pretty straight forward...

As for prepaid MC, have not seen it. I always see Visa cards... will post again if I find it.

Check Travelex... I know the one in Akasaka Mitsuke has some brochure about MasterCard... although I must admit I've never taken or read the brochure.. Seems it is like a pre-paid MasterCard type thing for when you travel... Good Luck...

You can get the MC prepaid card in a shopping mall. I’ve seen them. Or perhaps you could get one of those anonymous or identity protected cards that are offered online.

I paid a BTC seller 6,000yen since a one-month ad was about $50. I was only expecting him/her to take a small cut, but after his/her exchange rate and the $5 transaction fee, I ended up with a little less than $25 worth of BTC. With that amount, I could only afford a one-week ad and didn’t feel like buying more BTC, so I just went through with it. Maybe it’s just the wallet I use, though? I’ve only tried Paxful so far.

I assume with MasterCard payments, the actual costs would be more predictable.

I see. It does depend on what wallet or exchange you use. If you're using a wallet that's independent of an exchange, you could experience higher fees.
BTC is an easy currency to manage, but having to buy BTC in order to pay someone else can be a bit on the expensive side depending on how it's done.

If you can use a prepaid card with cash, that's definitely easier. I'd happily accept cards for TAG payments if it was financially viable, but it's not, at least for our end of the business. :(

Master Card's website shows several pre-paid card brands with MC. Among them, Web Money Card can be a good option for online shoppings. The problem is that there are no English pages/application forms for those cards...

Thanks - I've heard of those, but I don't think any of those are OTC type cards that you can just buy in a store like you can with visa cards. Web Money is the only that I think I've seen somewhere before.

It’s called webmoney. It should be available. And if not that, try one of the cellular providers.

Either Visa or Master, you need to register your personal information with the card at some stage before the activation. I don't see the difference.

The difference is that I see a lot more visa offerings, that are easily accessible. That’s all... nothing more, nothing less.
