Best Cities You’ve Ever Visited

Not as traveled as some here. But here we go.

Japan
1. Fukuoka- Special place in my heart, first for almost everything I wanted in Japan while not getting the Green weenie like in Oki
2. Osaka- Great times with good friends, mostly went to USJ and the observatory tower near USJ. Was able to relive my earlier USO childhood and ride the Back to the Future ride before it is no longer available. Highlights include making the female Actor at the Terminator ride break character by excitedly clapping when she clapped; I guess I wasn't supposed to do that. Dancing in the middle of the walking path to "Happy" impressing people that I knew the dance to PONPONPON at the Kyary Pyamu Pamu ride and of course screaming, saying I hate my friend and swearing at the top of my lungs on the ride (I HATE ROLLER COASTERS).
3. Tokyo- Too many stories, so little time. Clubs, festivals, bars, culture. I will say that I have noticed that in Tokyo they tend to be a bit ruder there than in other cities.
4. Hiroshima- My favorite team plays there, great time seeing the game. Awesome city to visit as well.
5. Nagasaki- Was pleasantly surprised at the amount of history this city has, not to mention it's cultural significance to Japan, much less the entire world. They have more bars than clubs, and for the most part, it seems like an older sit-down and chill and drink city, not to mention FUKUSAYA cakes! OH GAWD!!!
6. Naha- Special place in my heart but for mostly food. Blue Seal ice cream, garlic house, Pubs!!!

World
1. Seoul- Only other city outside of Japan I have been to and well I had fun, but for four nights five days my friend and I were perpetually drunk.
2. Niagra- Went to the Canadian side to see the falls, but I am not counting this.

United States
1. DENVER! My home state!!! I grew up here, most of my childhood friends are here. It's home. Weed aside.
2. Orlando- Family holidays when I was a child to Disney World and Universal, though my father made it a point to take me to Cape Canaveral to see Shuttle Launches and shuttle recoveries. If I had been a bit more studious when I was in school, I might have been an Astronaut as that was my dream and still is my passion to head into space.
3. Tallahassee- Long story went to school at FAMU for a year dropped out and yeah, still had fun
4. Maui- Forget Ohau or Hawai'i, MAUI is where I want to be. I remember so much from my time there, two weeks of bliss. If anything my father forcing me to go even though I threw a fit was the best thing he could have done as I loved the place, and I still wish to go back.
5. NYC- As much crap as people give NYC I had a good time, I saw P-Diddy randomly riding a bike on the street, amongst other celebs too, I accidentally started a bum fight by giving someone money, and one person took offense and well, they got to swinging.
6. Chicago- When you're stuck up in Great Mistakes for a few months attending school, the only option for fun is Chicago. We would buy a 30 rack, split between 4 people and drink all the beer by the time we got off the train in the heart of Chicago. Admirals, clubs, Sears, DEEP DISH!! Jesus, you name it, I kinda want to go back during game of thrones because there is a bar that has a youtube series in which they show their patrons live reacting and it's packed.

What can I say, I love hippie chicks and the great outdoors and they have a few good (but pricey) restaurants.

You only like the hippie chicks because they have hairy armpits like French girls.

Hmmmm... you should give Boulder another chance. We’re not in the 70s anymore. Also lots of smart people and nearly no crime. Can’t say the same about most yankee hell holes ;)
Good micro-breweries too

I haven't been there in years and I have nothing against it. I am sure it is great. I have history there actually. I am a permanently recorded in the records of Eldorado Canyon.

Vancouver - mild climate, a fantastic variety of live music, any kind of ethnic cuisine you could want from Greek to Nicaraguan, a healthy dose of debauchery, and even the junkies are mostly polite.
Vancouver. AKA Boring Seattle with tons of Chinese people.

I was in love with Vancouver for awhile. But strangely, I would find myself getting in fights with people there all the time. Maybe it was just bad luck, but it seemed like I kept bumping into really stressed out high strung people. Great salmon fishing there. Good dim sum too.

Seattle has its fair share of Chinese as well...
Sure, but nothing like Vancouver---especially all the wealthy Chinese who moved there from HK, and the mainland nouveau riche buying up property all over.

Great salmon fishing there.

For that, you really want to get a flight up the coast and get to Kitimat. If you like fishing, you'll thank yourself. A lot of big feisty ones up there.

I have been up there. But I also caught, believe it or not, massive King Salmon 20 minutes off Granville deep trolliing with sardines.

Boston, NYC, Toronto, and Quebec City are my favs but not in any order.....More good memories than bad plus the era I was there.

I have been to some of the beautiful cities mentioned in this thread and I would like to add another one, despite the fact that it brings up sad memories for me: Aleppo, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world.

With the courtesy of a last minute invitation from one of my college professors, I had the honor to visit the city shortly before the military confrontation began. Vastly demolished due to barrel bombs, the UNESCO World Heritage site is now a former shell of how I remember it in my memories. One regret I have is not visiting Damascus.

What are some of the most memorable cities that you’ve traveled to?

I really loved my time in Málaga and Barcelona. Architecture, friendly vibe, handsome men with charming accents, nice weather, incredible nightlife.. Hope to return in a couple of years, but for a longer stay.
Malaga is nice but too familiar for me, reminded me of home, so I prefered Barcelona.

other cities I liked :

Brussels - I once thought it the ugliest and the most boring European capital. My impression changed after having spent a week in Ixelles neighborhood recently. It was fun to stroll around there to find lots of lovely buildings, good food, nice people, and interesting cultural mix.
I spent one week there and saw 5 min of sun. And the way people talked was so depressing.

Also lots of smart people

That's pushing it...Book Smart, yes. Common sense and street smarts? HELL NO. It is a progressive backward ass city. Almost every person I knew in that city I absolutely hated, they had this, whole, I'm a vegan, hipster, fitness, all-natural, holistic therapy, yoga, I only smoke weed, practice sex from the kama sutra, meditation, atheist, you can't say that, check your white male privilege at the door, I only watch foreign and indie flicks, and because I do all of these things I am better than you assholes.

There was a good friend of mine who was like an anomaly, was literally all of those things, but didn't judge you nor did he think he was better than me. Great guy to have a conversation with, smoke, and drink. He didn't like that I went into the military, but still supported me and was the first person to say congrats when I completed boot.

Yeah, I hate the place, mainly because every time I go through there, I tend to piss off some guy or doll who finds something I say, do or wear offensive.

I was thinking more about all the tech / research centers / start ups etc...
the woowoos I find them fun, not necessarily smart

Probably the reason why I got along with my friend because he was in IT. He hated them too and he was a staunch liberal.

Referring to women as 'dolls' is going to get you in trouble everywhere these days, not just in liberal cities. Well, maybe some women in small towns in Texas might put up with it.

Sadly wasn't able to travel much so far in my life, but so far Tokyo takes it all. Been there last year and nothing compares to it. Been to Paris before but did not like it all that much. I also very much enjoyed Nikko because it was such a stark contrast to Tokyo.

Other than those, Munich and Salzburg were great but I was "younger" (not that I am particularly old yet lol) back then, still enjoyed the landscapes.

It's hard to pick since everywhere I visit often has it's own charm and beauty, plus as many people have said it depends on what you're looking for in the city.

I tend to miss Okanagan Falls the most in B.C Canada, probably just nostalgic for my youth, but even when I go back to visit there's camping, fruit picking, hiking, swimming... Well except this past month where it was all smoke and fire...

Victoria B.C is also really nice, big enough to have some stuff to do, small enough that if you've got a good set of shoes everything is pretty walk/bike-able. Tokyo will always be a favourite for that city vibe and party climate, Rome for the food, and architecture, and fashion. Although I probably had the most fun when I was in Pescara but that's due to having family there.

The world is a pretty big and beautiful place, I've had bad experiences, bad hotels, bad restaurants, but never really an entire city that I didn't find something in it that I liked.

....

Oh wait maybe Ulsan, Korea... Yeah cracked streets, garbage everywhere, and no good architecture, that city was a little "meh"
