Japanese woman can't cook !

great to see this thread getting so many great posts.

FWIW I can honestly say one of the most enjoyable women I dated for a while often asked me to take her to Matsyua or Ikinari Steak (cheap stand up steak joint serving ice cold namas). She loved Matsuya but said as a woman it felt weird going their alone. Cheap and cheerful beats these poncy places with a stick !

Lucky man!

Italian parsley is pretty easy to get in Japan. I buy it regularly at four or five of the major local supermarket chains in Kanagawa. And if you cant get it, it is incredibly easy to grow. Like cilantro, or regular parsley, it will grow without any problems pretty much anywhere in Japan in the spring and summer.

Yes, you are right. I should have said "it's expensive in Japan". A bunch of Italian parsley costs about Y20 in Istanbul whereas in Japan it's around Y200. I asked the owner of a Middle Eastern restaurant in Tokyo why their dishes are expensive (even falafel sandwich is sort of luxury in Japan!) and he told me that ingredients just cost more in Japan - olive, olive oil, Italian parsely, rucola, bulgur, molokhia, chickpeas, etc. Nevertheless, I've noticed that the price of molokhia has come down quite a bit over the last 10 years as it gets more popular and produced more in Japan. And I really hope the EU-Japan Free Trade Agreement would push down the price of halloumi from Cyprus. I believe the Med dishes are the best complement to the Japanese cuisine.

There are not many things in Japan that cost less than 200yen. In that sense Italian parsley is cheap and as close to “free” as it gets here. In Istanbul they may have 20yen Italian parsley, but they also got camels that spit on you and ruin your shirt.

And you pay those camels with women

You left out 4 - cultural expectations (or lack thereof).

A very large percentage Japanese women don't actually learn to cook until they're engaged.

And an even larger percentage of Japanese men never learn at all. My Japanese friends are always bemused when we have them over for dinner and I do all the cooking.

nope, that point doesn't belong.

Unless you're brain dead or physically impaired, there's no reason why you can't learn to cook. it's all attitude. it's not rocket science......

Now, are you saying cook as in they don't know how to prepare a meal other than instant ramen? I would have to say No. If by you mean cook as in a meal that makes you say that is delicious? Then quite possibly I agree with you here. I can not tell you how many of my friends(Female Japanese friends) who think that they can well cook and indeed would have been better off going out.

But still we’re expected to be in good shape at the same time?

Studies say that men burn roughly 4.2 calories per minute during sex, while women burn 3.1 calories. So the girls just need to get more active or to do it longer, or best, both.

That would be just a good sixty minute shag for every pint of beer you drink, sounds totally doable to me. :D

This is true. My dad couldn’t believe how expensive the Turkish restaurant we went to was compared to in Europe.

I am limiting myself to six pints a day. Not to go easy on my liver, but on my dates.:D
So how many pints do you need to get to spend more time on sex than work?

With all them pints and sex who has time for work?

Isn't there a specific class of people for that anyway?

Why would you think that Japanese women can ALL cook? Not all women can not want to cook just like men. Why don’t you do the cooking? Go to school learn for yourself! They also have lessons for couples. Or just eat out! Dining out is great if you have the money! But don’t knock people cause they can’t cook! Plenty of people can’t! When I was in Canada and dated a Japanese female, her cooking was less than desireable compared to other Japanese women or even Canadian women. I never said much but I did offer her some cookbooks for Japanese cuisine. Since she hates cooking, just find one that can and leave her be.

I’m pretty harsh! Some women can’t cook! What percentage I don’t know but in every country, there are people that can cook!

Frenchy, I will say that the best cook I have known was a French women with a rather ugly face and a rather perfect ass. The quality of food made her so attractive to me!

We all have our priorities ! :D

Wether they know how to cook or not, they all own one or two hot ovens for baking sausages.
