1/21/2019 - Shooting in Kabukicho - One Man Dead

When I first came here, every time a yak got arrested for firearms, he was picked up with a Tokarev or a Makarov.

Chinese or Russian mostly, but also surprisingly large number of pistols sourced from the US military. According to my sources, that is.

Police firearms are pretty tightly controlled - they even have to turn in spent brass from range practice for accounting.

Reloading is pretty simple and primers are easy to smuggle. Bullets can be cast and in pinch you can even make your own gun powder.

I feel sorry for the victim of course but at the same time, I am relieved to know that it was purely between Yakuza guys, not ordinally person involved.

Are you an expert in gun?
All I know is Walther P38. You know the source.

Well, I grew up around them, and got my first rifle when I was five...

And Walther P38? If you're thinking Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, then I like you even more than I already did :)

(If you're thinking James Bond, that was only used by Bond in the Peter Sellers Casino Royale - Bond's sidearm of choice was the Walther PPK, a more compact version of the Walther frame. )

I don't think I go complete astray if I say you just stroke out. Isn't it three and out? What you are looking instead is the Third.

I’ll get backing evidence for you shortly, but the PPK was preferred both in the books and films - at the time of the first books it was the most compact high powered pistol available, hence Fleming’s choice.

Not denying that, only referring to where our lovely @Manami TMK knew it from. And I am ready to put an ice cold Asahi against a smack in the butt in the line to say I am right.

That guy has a good looking girlfriend. Or at least had. Mine she is now.

Hmmm... well there's also Emma Peel from the Avengers, and I think Lupin III uses one.....

P38s are usually just handed to any German sounding villain because they look a lot like a Luger.

And whether I'M right or wrong, I still win, because now I'm thinking of Emma Peel. Diana Rigg, though Uma looked good too. :)

I love badass women. :D

Yeah, Lupin the Third was the one I was guessing. Though the serious lack of trigger discipline in all Japanese animation just frustrates me to no extent.

Sometimes I forget that most people I encounter have never seen or touched a firearm and don’t know much about them.

I have been around guns of all sizes quite much and have the holes in my hearing graph to prove it.

はーい、ご名答!
This is it!

Fujiko Mine is the all men’s dream lady, mmhm.
I watch most of Lupin the third episode and this Walther P38 is one of the movies that keeps most closest image of the original comic. More dark, more serious and more adultly.

She and Yoko Tsuno were my early days favourites.

I wonder how many Colt M1911's are in circulation from the occupation.

That is because most people isn't Americans :D

I'm Canadian, and before I moved here, owned more firearms than almost any American I've ever known, with two exceptions, and those two own shooting ranges.
