20 somethings don't go to discos. If you can find a disco in Tokyo then it will be full of mature Japanese women....women your age. They may want to have a roll around in the sheets for old times sake. But these hardcore disco freaks will demand you dance and dance and dance to Earth Wind and Fire et al. It is a desperate situation to find yourself in.

Any Hub or other foreign franchise is the best bet. Not my scene personally, but I've seen many of my friends find success there. Hub is a British-themed pub chain so you can avoid the annoyances of dance clubs and the music isn't too loud for conversation. Also, they're everywhere.

Roppongi is usually the place for Japanese girls looking for foreign company, though round there they're usually looking for guys with a high-status job and fat wallet... so come prepared with a good story at the very least.

Speaking of Roppongi and girls looking for rich dudes, does Heartland still exist? (I've been off the social scene for years, my local knowledge is over a decade old).

You're an older guy visiting Japan on vacation and you can't speak Japanese. Unless you're George Clooney's twin or have the bucks to make it rain at a bar, which doesn't seem to be the case, you will most likely not have the time nor resources to cultivate some sort of relationship at a bar with any woman, Japanese or otherwise, that's ending in sex. And it sounds like you just want sex. Therefore, just skip all this bullshit about pick-ups and just go to a proper soap or independent or any other establishment confirmed in the thousands of posts on TAG and pay the money for a guaranteed good time. Don't forget your Sildenafil.

But to answer your original question, NO there are no bars that I know of, in any country, that cater to solely to horny old men and women. By your age you're supposed to be unhappily married with spoiled, shitty kids in college and paying for an underage SB you met on Seeking Arrangements, not flying to a country you know nothing about to seek out desperate old women in your age range at a bar. Old people don't go out prowling. That's why sites like OurTime.com exist. And you can ignore this advice and try hitting up a HUB or other random Irish pub or gaijin bar, but believe me, when I was in my 20s and living in Japan there was no shortage of creepy old guys rocking up to the usual bar hangouts and trying to strike up conversations with girls half their age at the bar counter. You'll stick out like a sore thumb and the only thing you'll accomplish is losing the bar money when the girls at the counter you're harassing excuse themselves and take the party to another establishment.

Whatever you've heard about Japan being some fantasy wonderland where any horny old geriatric white guy can whip out his passport and have pussy thrown at him from every direction, you can forget about that right now. As I said earlier, Japan is not a third-world country full of starving women desperate for a sandwich. As with any other country where people can read and write, if you're an old guy looking for fast sex at a bar you'll either need to be very handsome, very interesting, very wealthy or you're shelling out the P4P cash like the rest of us on TAG.

Heartland closed years ago, and is replaced by a similar bar called Tusk. However, it’s nowhere near the same as Heartland was. Post Lehman, all the girls moved on when the cash wasn’t being made.

However, the action has moved to Rigolleto on the 5th floor of Roppongi Hills. The drinks there are very reasonably priced, and there are always girls hanging around the bar area looking for either foreign expats who work upstairs, or are staying at the Grand Hyatt next door.

You most likely will be targeting the late 30s which is a mixed bag of desperation here. But as long as you put yourself in the environment where they are, you should find what you are looking for.

I’d say Rigoletto is your best bet. Followed by the Hub in Roppongi next to the theater. Not the downstairs one. Also R2 and Oak Door for some working girls.

Most of the single females I know in Japan who have reached their late 30s generally give in and start dating guys in their late 40s or even older. Of course, a lot of those girls I know that are single, are single because their husbands caught them cheating on them or having some other guy's kid and kicked them out of the house. Now THOSE girls would definitely be open to marrying anyone, of any age, of any body type and dysfunction, so long as the guy promises to take them back to his home country. If you don't mind a 40yo woman with two grown kids and a black smear on her koseki tohon, I'm sure you'd find tons of them through any Japanese dating agency. Or maybe try trolling supermarkets and look for the really skanky looking middle-aged woman with kids and no wedding ring. That could be a fun game, in and of itself!
