The Anything Goes Thread

I hope they could bust more scam bars like this one in Roppongi... and deport the scumbags managing them

Sad truth is that this guy was an idiot.

The bright ones in these scams are smart enough to spread the charges over a handful of shops that they have arrangements with. Once they get the PIN for the card, they'll just run it around to crony-owned restaurants and bars in the area and run up charges until they've got it maxed.

Wearing a f*cking mask!

Opened my front door this morning and noticed a flock of birds flying overhead....paused and thought, mmmhhh you don't see that very often...paused again and thought, I wonder if we are about to have an earthquake? Return to my desk, 5 minutes later the earthquake warning alarm goes off on my phone.

That phone alarm is going to induce quite a few heart attack related deaths.

I've had to deal with a few expat execs who got their (very high limit) company cards clipped by those scammers. One of them had dozens of charges racked up that night from places ranging from Shinjuku to Ueno.

But no earthquake right??

The birds are evolving, now they can sense even the coming alarm without the earthquake.
My cumming alarm has nothing to do with birds that have feathers...........so far at least :p

Seen on Twitter:
Historian Nick Kapur made a map of the very first thing Japanese people think of for every prefecture in the country, “at least according to Japanese Google autocomplete”. ;)

Not sure whether to move to Kochi or Fukuoka....

Fukuoka, I think, is super necessary for me to visit when the health crisis is somehow resolved. :)

I’ll probably steer clear of Hyōgo (Bizarre Crimes).
Don't worry, @Frenchy is now aware that he's been noticed and will spread his random thefts of tanuki statues farther afield.

I guess it's in the link but how could you not call out bugsy malone - his (and the) finest film.

My biggest disappointment about Japan is that they do not appear to have any of the songs at the karaoke.

Thanks for the reminder Tabanico.
Although I watched it many times I just realized the music was by Paul Williams.
