Japan's COVID-19 Situation - One Question

yaaay! A conspiracy theory fan! we needed that for comic relief!

so what’s your take? The Japanese government decided to bury people in hiding under the Imperial Palace? Bill Gates is a reptilian, an Illuminati, or both?

I don't know what he is but he most definitely isn't qualified to be an authority on viruses. He can't even protect Windows from them.

She had a bad fever for like 2-3 days. Then felt fine, got a bit of coughing and a runny nose and now has lost sense of smell and taste.

That's the intriguing part I keep hearing about about the mild cases and loss of taste/smell--not intriguing in the sense that I want to experience it, of course, but something I suppose science might be able to explain in the next couple of years.

One of the earliest publicized cases in my current town was a mid-30s male who caught COVID back in March, and it nearly killed him. He ended up in an induced coma for months, lost half his body weight, was just released last month and is suffering from debilitating neurological effects and can barely walk. His 70yo mother, however, caught the virus taking care of him and she was basically fine. A mild fever and she still hasn't regained her sense of taste but she barely skipped a beat.

Obviously she should count herself lucky, but I can't imagine not being able to taste or smell. No more fine wines, cigars and cheese/meat platters. No more anything nice. I suppose it'd save me a ton of money if I could just start guzzling Pabst or Natural Light, box wine and eating shitty frozen foods from now on but I'd rather not find out what that's like.

Indeed and the important number is not the infected, as it seems pretty sure it's going to be everyone in the long run, but the number of fatalities.
An important number where I’m at is the hospitalizations. Our ICU’s are filling up and we have dumb ass politicians trying to make like its ok to the public, going on about having the capacity for hospitals being able to add extra beds, and all the while the HCW’s in the trenches are wondering who the hell is he thinking are going to staff those extra beds?? Double shifts for everyone everyday maybe? And sorry but we need some ICU bed capacity for non-Covid patients too. And shit, HCW’s are getting sick too. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Ok, rant over. Needed to vent that somewhere.

This one time, I had a sudden loss of taste. Totally freaked me out for a few minutes. Then I realized I was eating tofu. True story. I felt so stupid after realizing it. :ROFLMAO:

All I know is, FUCK 2020. And possibly 2021, too, if I can't pull my pants down in Gotanda next year.
Man I’m pissed too. I’m quite overdue for an akasuri scrub from a fob Korean chick. Damn covid.

This enduring loss of taste and smell seems the most common effect afterwards. I have also read some reports where it returned after a while, but like super amplified, rendering the people unable to eat most food or get close to their loved ones.
Another often reported effect is some sort of super fatigue. People healthy and in good shape get exhausted from just walking some stairs or other minor things, can't concentrate etc.
The majority of people recover fine, but I wouldn't really need those side effects, even if they go away after 6 months.

This sounds like me.............but for several years now.

This has been a tough year for several reasons.

I am sincere when I say: please, stay safe everyone.

Same here, and the sad part is that 2020 was shaping up to be an amazing year. But, I really have no place to complain. With so many around here losing jobs, livelihoods, homes and, of course, their lives, I'd be a supreme piece of shit to bitch about being holed-up in my office for another few months while my bank account actually grows because I have nowhere to spend money.

I remember five months ago and most of us predicting this would be over by the end of summer. Whoops. That's why nowadays I'm just shutting my mouth and patiently waiting for that vaccine to arrive. Might take a while but we'll get there.

And then there's the equally-dangerous flip side to this, which is the super mild cases that give everyone unrealistic hope. A friend of the family, retired lady in her early 70s, caught COVID about a month ago. According to her, she started feeling a little crappy, like when a cold or flu is coming on, and figured she should get tested just to be safe. She was shocked when it came back positive, because according to her, all she really had was a mild fever for a few days and was sleepy for another few days. After a week of just napping and watching soap operas all day she felt fine and was not particularly happy because health officials forced her to stay in quarantine for another two weeks. Now all her other old-lady friends are thinking it may not be so bad for them, either.
.
Similar story with my brother-in-law’s mom who is 86. She had very mild symptoms but was kicked out of her assisted-living facility for almost a month. They required her to have two negative tests, a week apart and then another 7 days before they would let her back in.

The good news is while the tests get us record number of infected the numbers almost daily for hospitalisations and deaths continue to be low.

According to the ministry of health (pic stolen from someone who combined the info) this is the latest in Japan. No deaths in under 50 years category, and even the total deaths are now at around seasonal influenza levels.

Well, I have several Japanese Escorts contacting me often and even offering discount on their normal rate.

It seems that Coronavirus has been hitting hard on Escorts pockets, or should I say "wallets" or perhaps "purse"

I remembered how "bitchy" and "picky" were some escorts before the Coronavirus outbreak, when those women had such a high demand of customers (local and international), that they had the "luxury" to reject or decline your offer.

Now, as I said I have several escorts asking me frequently when we will meet.

So ironic how things can change in a matter of months.

yeah , I haven’t checked SA profiles for months now but I have a feeling you see much less princessy BS such as « I know I deserve the best and will only sleep in my own room in 5star hotels and travel first class » (seriously, I’m not making this shit up, it happened) :ROFLMAO:

Yes, indeed!

Some escorts though that they were doing you a favor just to have the honor of their presence (company).

I guess before the Coronavirus outbreak, there were so many tourists/foreigners with the famous "Asian fever" that were going crazy paying a ridiculous amount of money for a good looking Japanese girl.

So funny how a "crisis" can even change an escort's heart/actittude/behavior towards you.

I have a very interesting and even funny story about my first encounter with an independent Japanese escort who behaved in such a "bitchy" way that I never though she will even dare to contact me.

She has been sending messages frequently on LINE, and her case should be good for a psychologist.

This settles it, I need a cabin with piped in onsen water....

The licenses for those houses are pretty expensive. Unless of course it really is a cabin in the woods and you are a DIY man.

In that case count me in, I work for beer. Hell, I even bring that beer with me myself.
