The Next US President is....

If that is the surest way to forget the real world I think I will start to do the same then. The real world sucks and still seems to be getting even worse every day.
So you're sayin that suckin off a ladyboy will make the world a better place? Guess what, we're all gonna die real soon as I'm no savior :p

you may want to put your google skills to use here again and look up the Irish PM.

FYI The gay one has already been booted out.

Varadkar was elected by default as the alternative candidates were hardline religious bigots with or without terrorist ties.

I guess at this stage we should all forget about the very minor issue of who is going to be the next US President to focus on the truely important one: who is going to be the next Taoiseach? (a title I always found insanely cool by the way, sounds like a powerful overlord thing with Celtic druid magic on his side)

Well he just mentioned he’s Irish but for all we know it could be Northern Ireland , hence his good knowledge and strong opinions on UK politics. Like me with the US ones: nobody know I’m really just a Cajun guy in Baton Rouge posing as French :)

This thread really illustrates the luxury I have as an American. I am shamefully uninformed about the rest of the world, know exactly jack shit about other countries, and even better, that's about all anyone else in the world expects from me. I never realized how blissfully ignorant Americans are until I lived overseas, and in the twenty years since have happily made zero attempt to better myself. USA!!

ok I will start your education: Ireland is an island in the south Pacific , with beautiful tanned ladies, great weather and insanely good tropical cocktails . You should go there, you’ll thank me later.

All I am saying is that at least for people who don't even have the right to vote it's way more productive way to spend time than debating who should be the next US president.

And coming to think about it, most probably even for people who have the right to vote.

That is word to word exactly what Trump supporters have been saying for years.

It's pretty easy to check though. Like. Literally just check a transcript of the original quote versus the way it has been used.

Of course it's almost impossible to actually transcribe trump because most of what comes out of his mouth is just nonsense: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cn...ot-by-what-trump-says-but-how-he-says-it.html

Meanwhile actual academic proper research at proper academic institutions has demonstrated that Corbyn has been misrepresented by the media:

https://www.lse.ac.uk/media-and-com...rch-projects/representations-of-jeremy-corbyn

But. I will stop stinking up the thread now.

@TAG Manager apologies!

I know quite a few brits who would disagree with this statement...

Maybe we know some of the same people;)

However I'm not generally opposed to the health sector being state run, but if you have at best a mixed record in doing so, why would you do better in other sectors. The underlying problem stays the same.

However while this are controversial, but debatable, positions, what I blame Corbyn for was to make this the focal point of his 2019 campaign while staying very indifferent on the main topic, the Brexit. That just couldn't work.

I don't believe in the narrative that the anti-Semitism topic had a huge impact here.

But I'm not really interested in further discussing UK politics. Like @Frenchy I actually believe that in the long run it's for the best to remove a country that always wants to cherry pick and never really wanted to be their in the first place. Not that it matters much with the other 27 knuckleheads;) I'm also totally not a fan of Boris Johnson. Independently of his Brexit position.

he has great hair though . and sports / ziplining skills. also it looks like his private life would be worthy of a TAG honorary membership . None of this of course is even remotely necessary to make a great PM but I find it endearing. And yes , he finally put an end to this Should I Stay or Should I Go charade of the UK in the EU . It lasted way too long . Even us evil frogs started to get tired of mocking the Brits for that and just wanted to turn the page

Yep. Not having a clear yes/no on brexit was fucking pathetic. I think he is a good guy (relative to other politicians, so a low bar) but in no way is he a leader.

Harris is being labeled the ‘most Liberal Democrat in Washington’ by the Trump campaign.

Before joining the Biden ticket she was last seen on the frontline during the Washington BLM riots. I don’t know if she stole any LV bags like her pals did though.

The Democrats really don’t want to win, do they? There is no guarantee that Biden will remain President until 2024 and I can’t see middle America risk putting Harris in pole position.

So who would have been a good choice then? A Democrat who doesn’t support BLM and proudly say so? :D

A candidate who attracts mainstream voters. Someone who represents the blue collar and the middle classes. Someone who doesn’t only care about the new half and BLM communities. I’m sure there is someone who fits the bill in the Democrats but I have no idea who it is.

I do, he’s called Joe Biden (and thats why he was picked to be VP himself before). So why would they need a second Biden-type on the ticket?

Are you being genuine? To act as if Harris is any real representation of the left is laughable. She's an establishment Democrat. She was chosen as VP because she ticks minority boxes but won't be challenging anyone's power.

Well you know...
some say she’s too liberal, others too pro-cops and hard on drugs bla bla bla
Guess if she cannot be boxed that easily in one of the usual blame-categories she must be ok

Ok:rolleyes:, lol

She doesn't challenge power when it favors her. You can look back at her record which is full of contradiction, or even as recently as this election cycle. Her only notable moment was drawing attention to Joe Biden's record on bussing, she later claimed she believed Biden's rape accusers, only to accept a VP position from him, like any other establishment politician.

As we say in my dialect “seuls les imbeciles ne changent jamais d’opinion” (only idiots never change their opinions). I think it shows Biden’s intelligence that he sees the selection as it should be, a political process to send a message, not to decide it through personal grudges

What? I wasn't talking about Biden or anything to do with his decision. I was just trying to say that it's crazy to think Harris is far left or that she will do anything for BLM or trans people.

Btw, you're not nearly disillusioned enough, try to work on that:LOL:

yes I know what you meant , I was just making a different (but related) point, sorry

ok I will try to be more cynical going forward. I know I’m too kind and naive by nature :D
