Isamic State - Japanese Hostage

I won't comment given I don't wanna relive this crap as its after midnight.

But I'm really not surprised at anything happening there now. What's actially surprising is that ISIS hasn't completeky conquered the place yet, considering what went down for so long .

As for the journalist. Some men just crave risk, or think they do. The vast majority arent able to pay for it, though.

Well the apparently one guy is dead. He wanted to die all along and had issues so between the 2, at least the terrorist picked the right one! Goto seems like a good guy so I hope he is released safely.

I'd wager that Goto is already dead as well. (n)

Keep in mind that ISIS is fundamentally a Sunni Wahabi movement. They have a lot of support in the Sunni triangle of Western Iraq and Eastern Syria (their heartland, and the seat of their caliphate). And in Obamas "liberated" Libya (good job, Obama and Cameron... how is that "Arab Spring" coming along?).
But they are not going to advance into Shia territory, and the Kurds with their solid nationalism will also push back. So, there are natural limits for the ISIS caliphate.

You need a bit of reading up on local background to understand the situation. (Something which our governments are apparently unwilling to do.)

This is the common sense we are dealing with...........

Fascinating! I knew that the fundamdalist islamic world is brimming with conspiracy theories (needless to mention 9/11, that that is an evil Jewish conspiracy is a given), but I didn´t realize that the moonlanding-is-a-hoax one is part of it. Must be fun being a science teacher in the Caliphate...
