The "me" is the dude who keeps reading the wrong kind of "field reports" all day :D
I think the « ME » is Chris actually... he’s the one reading all those reports and still has to do a normal job too

Haha, it's kind of rough at times, that's admittedly true. :) There's a mixture of envy and bewilderment when I'm reading these things before release.

He should have been banned from the sport and faded into obscurity after that handball in the world cup and the lies that went with it.

Maradona may have been a skilled player, but at the core of it, he was a cheat and an embarrassment to the sport.
A coke-fuelled, chubby, cheating midget.

Dude, it's football you are talking about. The sport where they regularly roll around on the grass dying even when nobody has touched them. You should have written "at the core of it, football is for cheats and an embarrassment to other sports".

Sounds like a fun night to me.

Thats why at my uni the rugby club motto was “a bit like football, but for men”

It is interesting how many athletes really let themselves go after they stop playing competitive sport.

Maradona is an extreme example, and maybe he had some mental health issues as well as his addictions and physical health issues. But I find myself these days looking at ex-sports stars and comparing how I have aged relative to them. My impression, is that sports people seem to go downhill quickly, and many seem to die at a relatively young age.

true. and definitely more mental issues than the average Joe. After having reached those highs its hard landings for many of them. In France we now mourn the death of Christophe Dominici who was a superb rugbyman. Took his life by jumping from a high building near Paris. Really sad
