Post-Pandemic Gift to Yourself??

but I was under the impression that it was difficult to actually get cash for bitcoins through whatever exchange there is.
This makes sense, ive also asked a few ‘bitcoiners’ about how you actually get real money from bitcoin, and after they almost spontaneously combust with rage at the idea i would want to do that, they give a long and convoluted response about wallets and exchanges and keychains or something

It’s a bit like asking whether your soul will actually be saved if you confess your sins. How rude

I read (over a year ago) was if you had like 1 bit coin, to try and sell it you would only be allowed to sell just a fraction of it (like .01% or or something stupid) like once a day. So if you had 100 bitcoins @ 46k which is 4.6 mil. You could only exchange $460 per day. I could be shit wrong but at the time thats what i remember reading.

It depends I had some crypto with Bitflyer & no matter the amount they did a bank transfer to my account.
I don't know if this is true, but I was under the impression that it was difficult to actually get cash for bitcoins through whatever exchange there is. Or at least difficult to sell of a large number of them at once.

I thought you have to be a chubby French dude living in Ebisu to handle Bitcoin?

Meanwhile I just got a (genuine but unexpected) email from some lawyers along the lines "Dear Bergmann, we've finalized the final bookkeeping shit'n'stuff on that minority shareholder buyout last year, and need to lob some more USD your way, still to the same account right yo?". Well obviously in more lawyerly language. Really need to transfer that into some actual reviews soon...

Yeah, this is wrong. There are many ways to spend both big and small amounts. Bic Camera lets you make purchases up to 100,000 yen with BTC. Registering on a domestic exchange, like Bitflyer, allows you to (legally) cash out to your bank account - but you will be subject to "miscellaneous income" taxes on whatever you exit. There are also a number of "OTC" options in the city, eg. people who will buy it off of you for cash. I also read recently that a currency exchange chain will start offering bitcoin cash out, which is attractive to travelers since you don't need to carry physical cash (and conversion rate likely more favorable than the fx they would charge you for paper currency). The whole crypto ecosystem has evolved big time since Gox and even the last cycle in 2017 - I reckon the majority of people who are hostile to it are either tech illiterate or jealous of all the nerdy IT guys who made actual millions off of it ;)

So Phuket is your preferred location in Thailand?

I only ask because I've never been, and if I ever do make it there it'll have to be with the other half--she's been there many times and I know exactly jack shit about how to get around in that country.

The ladies at the shop where I get my hair done (and only my hair, unfortunately) are all hot middle-aged Thai women, and most of them are former bar-girls and other such industry workers. My regular for the past decade has always recommended I visit, but not Bangkok. Somewhere "up north," is all I remember her babbling on about. Supposedly, better looking girls ("whiter skin," she says) and you can pay them to accompany you for days or even weeks at a time. They cook, clean and of course pleasure you. Is this Chiang Mai?

Not that it matters. If I ever make it to BKK, I'll likely be tasked with carrying all the shopping bags and sweating and bitching about it the entire time.

Thailand, at least before the pandemic, was really set up for tourists in general and sex tourists in particular. There is a range of looks among Thai women. Some have light skin while others have dark skin.
