I do that here on occasion when I'm driving back in to Tokyo and it's getting too late to prep dinner - very convenient, order from a traffic light, pick up and go.

Hatred and resentment is all over the place among locals. The underprivileged hate the rich and Beijing. Most of the rich simply have zero empathy for the less fortunate.

Beijing had to step in to impose its dictature to keep the status quo. If you let the people express their opinions, it would be an instant revolution.

This is so weird to have to listen to the ridiculous propaganda about the security law telling you how good is the situation now that they got rid of any hint of democracy.

May be one third of my close friends left the country over the last six months.
I will stay. Business is really good.

For the rest, we are just powerless seeing the show unfolding between a tiny city and a giant country. I just try to make my best for my family and friends to be happy. I feel a bit sad looking at all these people misery but honest truth is that I can't do anything about it.

A HK local that I know recently migrated to a Western country. She was lucky to have already had a passport from a different Western country.

There is a brain drain going on in HK, but those natives could largely be replaced by Mainlanders. These days plenty of Mainland Chinese professionals speak English and have studied/worked abroad.

Big disappointment in Phil-SB land : their Miss Universe Philippines didnt win, it was the Mexican chick. I didn’t know its such a big deal for the Filipinos. Well mine at least. Anyway, gotta watch lots of vids of the various contestants in sexy outfits with many explanations on their good and bad points etc... and its kinda refreshing to hear a girl talk about this type of pageants in a positive way , not the usual “its an awful exploitation and degradation of women” bla bla

The more I get messages from Uber wanting to give me free rides and free food delivery, the more I short their stock (yet gladly get the freebees) . Does that make me a bad person?

I think the model can be beaten though : i will create Uber Pimp . Free sex with escorts for the first 3 usages, no obligation to order more, revenues: 0 , losses and valuation : infinite. Im a winner
