With all the shit that already happened, I wouldn’t be surprised there is a big uprising in the Olympic Village , or some kind of fight between athletes of rival nations etc… They are cramped , isolated, cannot go out except to the competition venues, cannot party, drink, fuck…. Add to that the heat and the general hostility towards the event… no good

You do realize you're digging yourself even deeper? Renting a Scorsese flick for the purpose of masturbation is beyond blasphemy. I think I was around 11 when Casino came out. I already had most every line of dialogue from Goodfellas memorized. Even at that age, I had enough respect to do the right thing and use the JC Penny's junior swimwear section for the spank session and then learn from Marty and Joe Pesci how to scream, swear, slap around women and make disparaging remarks about Jews, Irish and anyone who works an honest job for a living.

Anyone have any guesses to when Japan will start issuing visas again?
There’s long term visas & tourist visas which both are not being issued now as far as I know.
After getting fully vaccinated I might do some traveling before tourist come back.

Everyone has a guess but even the government officials I have talked have no information.

Someone told me that they will probably open foreign tourism when about 70% complete vaccinations are reached. We are now at 22.5%.
But it is not supposed to happen before the October elections. Too risky for Suga Daddy… if he survives to the Olympics. Before that, they will reduce the quarantine period for resident travelers with a complete vaccine, when digital passport will be ready. But, who knows…

I still remember when Muhammad Ali lit the Olympic flame in Atlanta 1996.

This time wasn’t as dramatic, but it was cool to see Naomi Osaka light the Olympic flame in Tokyo tonight amid all the scandals, missteps and issues that have dogged this event.

It was nice to see a ハーフ hāfu like Naomi lighting the Olympic cauldron for diversity. A breeze of change.
