The Yoshiwara Soapland Resource Thread

I was asked an interesting question I couldn't answer. Anybody knows how many soaps there actually are in Yoshiwara? Not only gaijin friendly - the total.

Japanese Wikipedia says there are around 160 registered shops and TAG's list shows around 130 shops so I would say those give you a good estimate.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm planning to call Darling Harbor for an appointment later this month, and while my face-to-face Japanese is enough to gets by, I absolutely suck at hearing things through the phone. What are some of the "industrial vocabularies" that I should be expecting to hear, if any ? I'm pretty sure I can tell them I'm looking to book a session on ___day, at ___time, with ____-chan, for ____minutes but other than that if they ask me something out of the blue I think I'll stutter lol

Of course walk-in is always an option, but there are a couple of new girls on their roster that caught my eyes and I really want to make sure I get to see them

You can always book online and then confirm via phone if that's easier for you.

Also, they usually ask you if you want to be picked up from the nearest station, so expect that too.

I think DH doesn't have pick up service?

Weird....last time (a couple months ago) they didn't offer me, maybe I've missed something (I admit I am bad in Japanese)
Unless they have suspended it for COVID, but I didn't check that far...

This is on their system page: (Pickup service and which stations etc)

They accepted foreigners pre-pandemic. Could be a while until it returns to those conditions. I would look elsewhere for now.

Has anyone tried going to Honey collection?
I tried to book Honey Collection through CH and was flatly refused. I wonder if they will ever start accepting foreigners again since they seemed pretty firm on it in their message, but I guess it won't hurt to try again after the pandemic officially ends.

On the other hand, I messaged Dolce and they were actually very friendly in their response. They said that they would welcome foreigners again after the pandemic. Needless to say I am waiting for them to take my money.

To be honest though, I'm a bit sick and tired of the attitude of some of the shops in Yoshiwara. Some of these stores are extremely unfriendly to you as soon as you open your mouth, giving you the X hands without you even getting to complete your sentence. It's like they don't even treat you like a human. At least some stores might apologize and say something polite before refusing you. And then there are stores that might accept you, but charge you a huge extra fee. I tried Mizuiro Ribbon like someone mentioned earlier in this thread and it cost 40k with the 20k extra gaijin charge. To add insult to injury, when the girl came out, she was basically obese. I was fuming, but I had already paid 40k so there was no choice but to make the best of it. It's not just Mizuiro that charges exorbitant gaijin fees either. I asked Kosupara, a cosplay themed SL, and they quoted an extra 10k for gaijin. It made me wonder, was this par the course for gaijin in Yoshiwara even before the pandemic? Will we always be doomed to pay 30k+ here?

And let's say you want to just wander around and enter random shops to ask if they accept gaijin because you're feeling adventurous. Of course, most will hold up the X hands without letting you have a word in edgewise, but some may humor you and let you in. They'll take away most of the cards and offer you only a few, which will probably be their worst ones. I decided to try one and the girl ended up being much less attractive than the picture on the card, I might even say unattractive. And then there's one experience I had where a guy showed me some cards but was really insistent that I choose this one that he highly recommended and kept saying all the other girls were fat or onee-sans. I thought ok, maybe this old guy is trying to help me out. Big mistake. The girl that came out was probably the most obese girl I'd ever seen at SL.

All these negative experiences make me wonder why I keep coming back to this place. I think it's best to stick with confirmed gaijin friendly shops or stick to messaging shops on CH beforehand to save yourself time and heartache.

This is a piece of advice I can give you!

Many of the girls that work in Yoshiwara's soaplands do have Twitter account. Check on the girl you are interested and contact her via DM. Usually the girl make a reservation for you and you will not have any problem at the reception desk (like being rejected)

Most of the times, quality and looks comes with a price. What I mean, it's kind of difficult to find a cheap deal for a gorgeous soapland girl.
So be prepared to pay for it!

Thanks for the advice. I actually did do this once, and you are right, it was more expensive around 40k. When I walked into the shop, the guy was really excited to shoo me away immediately but I mentioned the girl I contacted on Twitter, and he allowed me to book with the most sour expression. Doing this does seem to get good results, so I might go down this path some day when finances allow.

When you say it is difficult to find a cheap deal for a gorgeous soapland girl, it made me realize that I really am looking for deals, and that is probably why I have so many issues. I just look at the price list for all the shops with ~20k for 60 minutes posted next to the doors, and I just get resentful that I can never get those prices. If only a shop like Honey Collection with high quality and reasonable price didn't outright ban all foreigners. But hey, if Dolce comes back, it just might be the holy grail. Keeping my fingers crossed.

About that list on top, additional notes mentioned "condom" means surely need wear it, but those without mentioned don't mean Gaijin could go NS and NN same like locals, right?
Due I heard recently they need foreigners to wear condom due sexual disease, right?

Why don’t you go try it out and report back?

Please show where you heard this. Most places require condoms or up to the girl’s discretion.

If you are so obsessed with this topic, why not just get a gf that will let you do you want instead of trying to draw this unnecessary divide between Japanese and non-Japanese. That too, is getting boring..

I am also pretty sure their is no division; none of the foreign providers in here are willing to give him a cream pie either.
