The two biggest culture shocks for me on a trip home are perfume and PDA. I guess I've lived in Japan for too long.

@John Chavers, perfume? Really? I always think women here wear it quite a lot, and sweet, heavy scents, too. What I miss here is men's cologne. Mmmmmm!

It depends on where you are. Drinking the night away at some キャバクラ or dancing at a club, sure. I rarely catch a whiff on the train or at the office.

OTOH, I haven't run across anyone wearing cheap perfume. (y)
