People come and go in this forum. Anyone you miss from the past?

Hey whatever happened to the guy who always commented, "Very fucking interesting. Captain Obvious!"? after Solong's words of wisdom?

I think Ww was shipped bundled with the forum. It is a kind of AI which always existed here from day 1. I suppose this is an AI which got created with the first sex forum which existed on the internet and he sorts of duplicate everytimes a new one is created.
This would explain why he knows so much about everything related to sex.

I don't know. I first registered on 17 November 2010 (according to my profile page...not that I remember it), and I don't know how much earlier TAG was created. I also don't recall how I first heard about the site or found it.

The thing that is a bit misleading though is that I was not very active for much of the time in the early years I was a member. There were periods of several months or more that I didn't read or post here, and the TAG community was much smaller and (as best I remember) quieter back then. I don't recall a lot of lively discussions/debates for example, mostly just relatively straight forward information requests and postings. But I might be remembering that wrong because I just wasn't all that heavily engaged back then.

LOL! Well, not exactly, and if I am an AI, the code is damned buggy!

However, I was there at (and played a minor role in) the "launch" of the first internet forum that dealt explicitly with commercial sex. It was the network newsgroup called alt.sex.prostitution. Maybe there was also one called alt.sex.prostitution.disc for discussions while the other was for ads? Again, I can't recall. But years before that I suspect (no way to know for sure) that I might have been one of the first guys to ever make first contact with an escort via a network forum; it was on a network newsgroup devoted to discussing Japanese culture, and an escort then working in Tokyo managed to sneak a hint about her work and availability into a post. I picked up on it and ended up meeting her. I know that I was the only one that did. It might have been the first in Japan even if it was not the first anywhere. This was really before most people used or were even aware of the web and browsers and such.

All this is making me feel old! o_O

I was internet virgin at the time of newsgroups, you are the real precursor of the biggest business industry on internet. In retrospective I would say you were a visionary !
It seems to me you missed a big opportunity here, you could have been the Bill Gates of internet sex services ! (maybe you are ? :p)

Oh, I go considerably further back on the net than the newsgroups. The first time I sent an email through the net, there were less than 200 machines on the whole thing and email addresses did not use an "@" sign!

It seems to me you missed a big opportunity here, you could have been the Bill Gates of internet sex services ! (maybe you are ? :p)

I've missed nearly all of the big opportunities in my life in terms of making money. I mostly just ignore making money and do whatever amuses me; by crazy good luck or something, enough money to cover my needs seems to always find its way to me.

I should have started that sentence with "In Japan". Where there is any significant prevalence of AIDS, it is very plausible (though I believe never demonstrated in "studies") that bleeding gums are a significant co-factor for transmission.
