I like to read about P4P but I'm not into paying for sex myself. And some of the prices that I see here are really high. It seems to me that either the guys are rich or they save up a lot and spend it all on one girl once a while. So I'm just curious.

- How much of your income do you spend per month on P4P? (percentage or absolute amount)
- How often do you go per month?

I'm pretty inconsistent. Some months I don't hobby at all, sometimes I'll go a bunch in a row, especially if I travel somewhere that has a lot of/cheap options. When I went to Singapore, I did something hobby-related every day. I'd say on average I spend maybe 4 man a month.

I am fairly a newbie, so I expect I would settle down a bit in the next few months. Business travel might affect this though.
I save up and budget accordingly (no I don't make spreadsheets).
I've personally limited my max spending to 50% of my income. In Jan, I was below that limit.

Most I've ever spent in a month would be about 400,000yen. (Couple of boys weekends in Tokyo).

Generally I'd drop about 100,000yen on an overnighter in Tokyo.

My wife gets 100% of 2 of my income sources (and I have no idea how much this is), while I keep the 3rd one as my pocket money.

An intriguing question!

For me the number is around but probably a bit over 10% with a generous definition of what counts. By that I mean that I am including the cost of things I do on dates with sugar babies (e.g., dinners, tickets to music performances) and not just the direct financial support I provide to them. I am not really sure if those "extra" costs should count since 1 - they are not really "payment for play" in any direct sense but more like "payment for companionship" (p4c?) in the case of her meals, drinks, tickets etc, and 2 - the part that I spend on my costs (meal and so forth) buy me the enjoyment of the food, music or whatever.

It would be quite a bit more if I did not spend so much of my time away from Tokyo; basically I party like a drunken (or insane) sailor when I am in town but do very little p4p when I am elsewhere.

I can't help but wonder if my recent excursion with J. Blair didn't prompt this question, but either way, like other guys who've replied, it varies. This past month was my record high, and I'm going to have to abstain for a while to recover, but hey, it was awesome!

I think in general, my appetite fluctuates depending on what else is going on in my life. If I spent 10% on p4p/sugar, that would be getting into the high range for me, but on the other hand, I'd have no qualms with this (or even slightly more) for high-quality interactions. Some girls are definitely worth it, and I like the less obligatory nature of p4p/sugar.

I've tended to be a splurge spender for as long as I have been a monger, well before I started coming to Tokyo and it became the venue for my p4p activities. This works for me in part because p4p has never been my only and has mostly not been my primary source of sex. I would need to spend both more in total and more carefully/frugally if it were.

No strict rules, I'm very happy with various kinds of np4p, I really hate it when no connection is possible so I go between 2.5万 to 20万 on very special occasions.
I can spend the same on np4p, so it makes me eligible to some kind of sugar relationships as well.

10-15% sounds like a maximum , I couldn't spend more without hurting my hobbies and my long-term economy.

I'm on the wagon at the moment but it was close to 80,000 a month for awhile.

at the beginning a year and half ago i spent up to around 5-6 man a month but now it's mostly less than 2.5 man a month if any. I don't like to spend on uncertain services, but ok to add a bit when repeating for instance

Wow! A lot of guys are spending a massive amount of money. 50% of a person's income is staggering. That's money not going into saving, investments, businesses, cars, jewelry, vacations, etc... Hilariously, I'm sure the sex workers getting their money are saving or spending it on things like jewelry or vacations.

It appears many aren't having sex regularly in normal ways, so to have sex, they pay money. Once you go so deep in that direction, it's surely a strong habit. Well, as long as you are having fun. Can't take money or jewelry with you, when you die.

Define "normal" : is it asking hundreds of girls if they are German ? ;)
(btw I like Germans but it's irrelevant in this normal way)

Fwiiw and imo, spending a fraction of your income up to what you might reasonably/prudently spend on a major hobby is perfectly sensible. Personally I have spent roughly as much on recreational travel as I do on p4p (mostly sugar dating these days) over the long run.
