Hi TAG,

Ever since I learned about fuzokus, I've been wanting to try them when I arrive in Tokyo in a few weeks. I'm wondering if I will be considered a gaijin when I use fuzoku services?

I was born in Japan, and raised in Canada and haven't been back to Japan in 13 years. I have a full Japanese name so I'm guessing that will help? I'm going to look Canadian(?, well, North American) because of what I'm wearing. I think I speak okay-ish Japanese; I don't have an accent which will probably help, and I can only read at an elementary school grade level.

What are the chances I will be asked to go somewhere else at those services? I'll love to hear what you all think!

You shouldn't have a problem. I'm Japanese American and look very Japanese. My Japanese is not perfect but usually can get in most places. Just keep the conversation simple. You never really have to read anything but maybe a questionnaire which is usually multiple choice. I think most people think I'm a little slow or come from the countryside.

So as long as you dont speak too much, you should be good? Although Im not Japanese by ancestry, Ive been told numerous times by both Japanese and not that I look Japanese. I can speak the language and Id say I got 85 percent of the accent down but I wouldnt say Im fluent.

Congratulations- the full realm of Japanese sexual services is open to you.

You will not be refused service anywhere as long as you can convince the tencho that you understand enough Japanese to know the rules.
But it is funny on how that works, and few want to call it out for what it actually is.

If you look Japanese/Asian, OK. Even when you are not Japanese, speak little Japanese, or born in another country.

If you don't look Asian, you are often banned, even at times when you speak fluent Japanese.
