Closed A Forum For Tokyo Visitors, Newcomers, First Timers Etc

As all of us regulars know, there is a steady stream of posts from people who are want are coming to Tokyo for the first time or with little previous experience and often only briefly who post asking for help with some aspect of adult life in Tokyo. E.g., can I get into a soapland without speaking Japanese, will my hotel let a DH escort come to my room, should I use the "services" of English speaking touts who approach me on the street, etc. These inquiries are very often ones we have seen many times before and have already been answered multiple times.

I wonder if it would be useful to make a prominently labeled forum called "Tokyo Newcomers Please Start Here" or something of that sort. The threads in the forum could be common newbie inquiries, and they could contain either answers or perhaps just links to old threads in which the answer is given.

This might be particularly useful when the Olympics brings floods of randy foreigners to the city for their first time.

Do newbies usually/ever find that thread on their own, and how many of their typical questions does it answer? Perhaps my suggestion means no more than promoting that thread to a forum, thus making it more visible to newcomers, and updating and expanding it a bit.
