    Interviewing with an AV company?

I’m an American citizen if that means anything, though I should inquire about that I guess. Don’t tell on me TAG, ok

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Think so. I’ve also seen that Caribbean uploads content without mosaics, and it’s landed them in hot water in the past. However, the company that owns them is based in LA(though they cater to Japanese viewers and Japan primarily), so I think it might also be a bit of a loophole with censorship...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

It’s only in CA for the duration of the shoot, then I’m back to Japan! The best part will be explaining the time off I need to my day job lol

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Update: In an odd (or maybe not) twist of events I have received another offer from Caribbean, but of course this time through the legit jimusho (which I’ve decided to roll with for obvious reasons). The difference from the last offer is that this work is being shot abroad, in LA! My producer...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I am very much so mediocre haha but agree with everything you said! That’s the appeal to me I think, they take average girls and make them cute! Not sure if I can achieve radiantly beautiful, but cute is good enough for me:D

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I can’t quote all the posts that brought up Asia Carrera, but I’ve seen that doc on Netflix myself, and admittedly I liked her bit the most I think. She sounded so real, the way she talked about growing up and wanting to feel pretty and being friends with boys, but not being seen as a true girl...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Damn that who knew taking some profile pictures could be so difficult! The photo studio staff were really nice, when I was getting my makeup up done, one of the jimusho staff was there with me, and he had to send photos to the manager to make sure the look suited what they wanted (I could here...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Yeah the cafe bit was kind of iffy, however I have heard of Caribbean and their productions are usually pretty quality so I’m still a bit curious... As far as compromising, I don’t see myself in Japan for much more than a year, so I’m not too worried about my image here. Yes it could be on the...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

So my progress is still developing, so I thought I’d post an update of sorts! God willing I don’t jinx it lol So my meeting with the first Jimusho didn’t result in anything, not even a kind rejection letter D: But later the next week I had gotten two more interviews. A little discouraged I...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Have to get something to even consider that possibility, open to suggestions though. From what I’ve seen often the agency has a small hand it in. ;) A lot of my faves are retired (Yuma Asami, and Rio for example) but one who is currently active that I like is Nina Nishimura.

    Interviewing with an AV company?

So the interview went about as expected based on the things posted here. The agency had me fill out a form, and the bottom half was all things I would be ok doing and things I wouldn’t be ok doing (because I’ve watched a decent amount of av, I could actually recognize most of the tags and genres...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Adding that Honban kanji to my cheat sheet if I need to read anything over, thanks!

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I would hope it wasn’t fake, it’s at the headquarters of the studio (even checked the website) so if it is false, I imagine reception won’t be expecting me or won’t be prepared when I ask for the contacts name. As of this post I actually two more emails from agencies, so I now have 3 interviews...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I’d have to email the person who I was in contact with and tell him another person is showing up with me, and I feel like that would be an inconvenience, interview is next Monday. I wish I had thought of that when he arranged the date, but I’ll manage! Also I should mention this interview is...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I wish I could, but I don’t really want to tell anyone I know on a personal level about this :x

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Wow these are great! It seems pretty straight forward even with the wonky bits.

    Interviewing with an AV company?

All great advice, thank you so much. Truthfully if I was able to make a video I wouldn’t care really so much if it got popular or not, it’s like a bucket list thing I want to do lol But if the opportunity presents itself, I’ll keep the money info in check.

    Interviewing with an AV company?

I’m still not sure if I do a suit or not haha the emails were all written with proper business Japanese so I expect there’s a good level of professionalism. I’m banking on dressing nicely and wearing a nice pair of undergarments if I need to strip down later. I’ve heard this in some places...

    Interviewing with an AV company?

Some emails later, I was surprised to get a response back from a company flat out asking me for an interview. I mentioned a few times in the email my Japanese wasn’t that good, but they either didn’t care or didn’t seem to pay attention and gave me a time and the address of the company building...

    AV jobs for foreign woman?

I knew when I wrote that it would sound like a setup for a scenario, but some research shows that it’s true for most of them. Something else I notice is they don’t really do events/promotions which also tells me it’s being kept quiet, and they don’t openly promote to draw attention to...
