Greetings!
We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
Both 2020 and 2021 have been disappointing, lackluster years due to the COVID-19 impact around the globe. Many of us around the world have seen some sort of impact resulting from the restrictions imposed to help combat the virus. 2020 was supposed to have been an exciting year for Japan and as we all know, that just fizzled out. Even 2021 did not turn out to be all that great in the grand scheme of things.
Now comes 2022 with a new hope for a better day. It is with great hope that we may see some aspects of our lives resume some additional levels of normalcy. In Japan (and specifically metro areas) we faced restrictions on social activities by venues closing early or not being open at all. At least some of that has eased and we are now able to enjoy some activities that extend beyond 7-8pm. With Omicron now taking its foothold in Japan's communities, there is a risk for more restrictions, but we hope it will not come to that. We personally hope that Omicron is the last variant, and we will start to just get on with our business around the world while living with the risks we face every day.
For this upcoming New Year, we expect that things will be business-as-usual or at least what we have been doing during the last quarter of 2021. It is quite difficult to make impossible predictions but there is always hope that Japan will re-open, and we will once again welcome new residents, students, workers, business travelers and of course our diehard visitors.
To our members, providers and to the general community-at-large, we appreciate your continued patronage of TAG. We will continue forward as we have always done. We have high hopes that we will start to exit this virus nightmare and get back to where we left off in early 2020. Well, we can hope right?
The simple message here today is that we wish everyone a very Happy New Year and that 2022 will be a prosperous year for all! The year of the tiger has come, let's release him and see what he can do for us.
