If you are just arriving to our site, welcome!

Below, we would like to highlight some tips and tricks on how to get the most out of TAG.

1) Main Page - Forum Sections & Listings. (here)

From this page, you can see the major categories with the sub-categories folded underneath. While our Adult Reviews section is by far the most popular, we have many other sections with some valuable information. If you are just visiting Japan, then some of the information may be useful for a short visit. Otherwise, residents of Japan may find it helpful to share information among each other.

2) What's Happening on Tag?

There is one singular way to get see what's happening around TAG at a glance. Using the "New Posts" feature or "Recent Posts" feature for guest viewers, you can get an instant look at what's being posted and updated from every section that you have access to.

TAG Guest View:

By using these two options, guests and members can get an immediate picture of the latest posts and overall content created around the site. The member's view will indicate how many unread posts there are (as noted in the red box) and this is configurable in your member's control panel (live update settings). Guest viewing is limited, so we do recommend a free member's account to enhance your experience while visiting our site. Many other functions become available after creating an account and making your first introduction post.

(Note: For Members, you can reset the "New Posts" counter by using the "Mark Forums Read" option in the menu bar. This will give you the option to "Mark all Forums Read" or the single forum you are currently viewing.)

As you get involved with discussions you create or other existing discussions, you will get on-site alerts that let you know when someone has quoted your post, liked your post, mentioned you or simply replied to a thread that you are watching.

3) Personalizing your Experience

We encourage our members to further improve their experience here by changing settings via their control panel for things like personal avatar, notification options, privacy settings and other miscellaneous options that help make each visit to TAG more personalized for each person.

Members currently logged in can start here to further personalize their account: http://tokyoadultguide.com/account/personal-details (and work your way down the list on the left)

To help personalize and create a friendly and fun atmosphere, we hope that everyone will take a moment to add a personal avatar to their account. (here)

4) Security & Information Protection

For the sake of security and personal protection, we ask that members not use email addresses that are tied to their job or easily traceable to a real identity. We do strive to protect our members information, which is not sold or released to anyone. However, if an incident did ever to occur (aka Ashley Madison debacle) we ask our members to be smart about their online identity. Please weigh risks and benefits when contacting other members off-site or simply exchanging contact information.

TAG does allow the user of a Google account for authentication and additionally, two factor authentication is available in your member's control panel. This two-step process can be used with the Google Authentication application for both iPhone and Android phones. (start here: http://tokyoadultguide.com/account/two-step and here (Android) + here (iOS) )

5) TAG Socially Objectionable?

TAG is a website created for the purpose of those residents and visitors to Japan that speak English as a primary language. There are many out there there that view TAG as a immoral and illegal site. However, each person's opinion on TAG vary and as far as the legality of our site, we are currently operating within the laws of Japan. Sex services in Japan are legal and most of the services are registered or fall under Japan's grey zone of adult entertainment laws. Discussion of sex topics and those sex workers is not forbidden and there is no social stigma for doing so, at least online.

We do understand than many countries with strict laws around sex or adult services do exist and those residents have a strong objection to the existence of TAG and similar sites. However, if you do not wish to participate or read such sites, please do not visit us.

TAG does not promote, endorse or permit discussion of underage sex, human trafficking or other serious moral turpitude that involves someone in job performing adult acts for money under duress. The only exception on discussion is where a case has been already presented in the public media.
