19 year old Thai lady got assaulted at love hotel

WOW that's huge news. I'm VERY sad to hear that this poor girl is no longer in this world. The guy being Japanese is a shock though as I've been told over and over that Japanese don't do Crimes in Japan. My wife explains these things to me all the time. Must be an asian from another country and changed his name

Sadly it happens in Japan all the time but the police is terrible at dealing with crimes against foreign women. There are predator guys in Japan who pick young foreigner women as their victims because they think they are easy targets, vulnerable, lonely, ignorant about their rights etc. People talk about how safe it is in Japan, but in my personal experience crimes against foreigners get sweeped under the rug.

Its not just against foreigners, LOTS of crime goes like that because the cops won't accept a report for crimes that they think they cant make a case on. Not to sound like one of those bitter expats but the "justice" system here is positively medieval.

I think this pretty much goes for all countries though.
Looking at violence against sex workers, Japan scores definitely lower than other countries!
Not to say nothing happens at all.

I don’t care what visa she was on and if there will be a crackdown on Thai agencies or not. I’m just very sorry about the girl and a bit happy that the attacker is not running around free and at least got a nasty smack out of it himself.

Thank you. I’ve had some bad experiences here, nothing to this extent but enough to realize Japan is not a perfect safe haven & I should be more careful about my surroundings. (They happened to me in my civvie life btw so being an escort may have nothing to do with it) Sometimes it’s hard to talk to people about these experiences because they’re quick to judge or tell me “to go home if I don’t like it here” so I usually keep it to myself.

I’m aware there are crimes against Japanese women as well which could have been avoided if police were doing their job. Just thinking maybe if we raise our voice, someday it will be heard and Japan can be an even better place.

its not just against women, its all crime. Also weirdly enough the police here are doing their job. Its just that their job description is not what westerners expect it to be. This gets complex and veers far off topic so lets just agree that what happened was a damn shame.

Update on this:

If you read the crime section there, most (I'd say +90%) of the murders are commited by Japanese. I think it's natural, given that foreigners comprise a little more than 1% of the population of Japan. But yes, Japanese DO commit crimes.

I saw that update two days ago from the Japanese news and here is some additional info about the guy and the case itself.

He is a MEDICAL student of Showa university. He got a torque wrench at some shop in Akihabara on the way to Uguisudani and knocked her down with it.

He got a wrench on the way to see an escort, bested her up by the wrench but “I didn’t intend to kill her.”?
Who believes that story??!

How come future doctor who is meant to save people’s life could take her life away??

Makes no sense!

Makes no sense!

The only way this whole thing makes any sense to me is if it had become personal.

Maybe he was a client that fell for her and was trying to make her leave the business and she wouldn't. I've heard of that getting ugly before

Tokyo: Man arrested over fatal beating of Thai sex worker
BY TOKYO REPORTER STAFF ON FEBRUARY 9, 2019

.........After the incident, which took place at around 8:30 p.m. on December 18, Naoki Yosomiya, a second-year student at the Showa University School of Medicine, leaped from window of the fifth-floor room, causing him to suffer a skull fracture.

Upon his release from the hospital on Saturday, police accused him of murder. “I beat her strongly with a rod, but I did not intend to kill,” Yosomiya was quoted by the Shitaya Police Station.....

Showa Medical School is relatively competitive ... and Yosomiya being 20 and a sophomore means he went directly into med school without a year or two or even three of being a ronin. Either a smart motherfucker or one of those with a connected relative:

....Showa University in Tokyo apologized for accepting unqualified relatives of alumni into its medical school and stacking the odds against applicants who had previously failed the entrance exam twice or more....

Yosomiya 四十宮 is a unique enough surname to figure out whether his Dad or Uncles are Showa U medical school alumnus.

Ohh, good point. I didn’t think about the possibility that he could be her repeating client.
Obviously I didn’t get killed but I had a stalker in past. That was scary enough. I occasionally hear scary stories from other escorts. When men fall for pro girls, they often become stalker and get more violent to her. When women fall for pro men, they often try to kill themselves. What is wrong with this world? It should not be complicated.
When one didn’t work for you, move on. There are about 6 billion people on the earth.
Moreover, when you look at it from different view, it is almost miracle that you are loved by the person you love. That’s why you should appreciate them more once they commit to be your partner.

Thanks for sharing, @Manami TMK.
Sorry about that scary episode in your life.

I know another lady in Tokyo who went through that same thing. I regularly checked up on her after she told me about the situation. I suggested that she immediately change whatever contact details he might have on her.

The guy has apparently moved on, but you never know with these types of people. So the lady has taken up kickboxing, so she can learn some skills that could come in handy just in case.

I don’t think so. Many killers kill for “fun” or at least from an urge.
They just kill random people because they feel the need to and she may have seemed like an easy target.
Its not impossible it was a repeat, since Thai girls do try to start relationships with guys from a richer country sometimes. But in that case things would probably have been going well between them.

I’m personally betting on something like this. He is a medical school student. Lots of pressure, maybe a scandal like this. Might turn him crazy and want to release his aggression. Maybe he did not want to kill her, just intended to beat someone until he didn’t feel frustrated anymore and maybe thought she would try to avoid pressing charges because of working illegal on a tourist visa.
Also doctors are not always nice people. While their work is very heroic, it’s known that a higher percentage than average of them is narcissistic. Also he may be interested in being in control of who lives and who dies.

Just speculations.

I’ve read some books touching this subject like After Dark by Murakami Haruki and Piercing my Murakami Ryu, thats where my speculations come from. Of course reality can be very different.

I’ve had guys fall in love with me as well and they have never given me a hard time. Although i do think that violence is often by someone you know and trust (like your boyfriend or family) i think cases like this often happen because an SW seems like an easy victim because you can get private with them easily and we basically have less human rights than other people.

Both of these guys are novelists and what I have read of psychology studies the reality is quite much different. Very rarely there are people who kill for fun; usually the reasons are money, revenge or drug abuse. Of the remaining ones quite many are sociopaths which means they can't feel compassion. The latter group is the most dangerous to random people but also the smallest group in civilised world where social security and healthcare organisations take care of kids. Because becoming a sociopath requires normally the right genes but also it must be in combination with a very poor and abused childhood.

This is also the group where most serial killers come from. Serial killers get much publicity and even movies and TV series. In real life most serial killers come from the non-civilised and under developed countries like Russia and USA.

And even then, most of them become corporate executives, politicians, or police officers.
