Recently, we have received a few requests in regards to allowing people to post anonymously. I would like to address those comments today with this short message:
The basic purpose in having a registered account is to prevent people (or bots) from posting spam or illegitmate information. I'm afraid if we opened up part of our site from anonymous (guest) posting, we would be riddled with junk posting and problems maintaining accountability.
We have been lucky enough to avoid the spam bots but as this site grows, we will become a larger target on the internet landscape. Here again, it's not just the bots, it's also other human users who wish to spread disdain among our users or information we post here.
Thanks for your understanding that we will continue to require registered accounts.
