For all members:

It was brought to our attention that images posted through the Tapatalk application as well as images viewed through the Tapatalk application were being held in a caching system which is not operated under the TAG umbrella. (Note: We are operating a self-hosted caching system, which is under total control of TAG Administration and strictly respects when an image is removed from a post or conversation.)

The issue at hand is how Tapatalk handles their caching mechanism. Images posted through or viewed through their application are cached for quick retrieval by viewers. If the image is removed from a post, it is NOT immediately removed from the Tapatalk preview screens.

We have already decided that Tapatalk will go away, but we were hoping to find an alternate solution for push alerts, which some people enjoy having. We are currently testing a solution on our .net test site and we will roll this out as an option for members to utilize.

** PLEASE: Post images with caution until Tapatalk is shut down completely. This mainly focused on face pictures or sensitive pictures that you may not want seen after being removed from a post. Please note that private images in conversations are not visible to members not in the conversation, but a copy of the image is apparently retained on a non-TAG controlled system if viewed through a Tapatalk application. **

Regarding a native TAG App for Smartphones:
We have also examined the possibility of implementing a TAG native Android and iPhone application, however we have been told that our content will likely be rejected by Apple, at a minimum. Their rules on adult content mainly speak about nudity and porographic content, but leave a grey zone in place for sites like TAG where it's mostly discussion. That said, we have not given up on the idea as a whole.... The revenue planned to come from advertisements would fund this project, if we can get it past the app. reviewers.

If you own a Apple developer account and have had experience submitting apps for review to the App store (including Android), we woud like to have a discourse with you. Contact me directly at manager @ tokyoadultguide.com --- this is for feedback only, no work is being contracted.

The removal of Tapatalk is coming... and we are sorry to those users who like it, but we will not support an application where our content cannot be controlled and I know that some of you are getting totally irrelevant advertising via that app.

Thank you.
