Are HB and CK places still at risk of getting raided by Police?

Young couple here.. Been doing some reading to prepare for our upcoming trip to JPN. We are interested in going to either an HB or CK.... it's hard to get real infos on google but the review sections on TAG are quite helpful. I did come across some articles around the internet about police arresting people in these places. Are these places illegal? Or is this type of stuff old news?

Old news mostly. There were issues a long time ago, but things have been good since that was all washed away.
They are private clubs and not illegal, they would have otherwise been shutdown already.
You can drink and socialize inside the club and any other activity is between you and and other members or couples.

Sorry took a while to respond, we're in Osaka now and haven't had much time to go online.
but yeh we do want to hit one of these clubs for sure.. but perhaps around the first week of november (we're missing out on the holloween events!)
