I'm from down under and i find the best beaches in Kanto are the beaches that offer to suck my sausage in Shibuya.

Gee Frenchy, just another mile down the road at Kisami and you have a lot fewer people and of generally higher quality- the long term expat crowd and Japanese cognoscenti. At Shirahama on summer weekends you have what is known in the lingua franca as an 芋洗 - a potato wash. A big tub of water filled to the brim with potatoes bumping against each other. At Kisami, you also have the excellent Sunnyside Cafe and South Cafe both close by. Go the extra mile my dear Franswaz, both metaphorically, and geographically when in Izu Shimoda.

Looks much better indeed. I hesitated to go there after Shirahama, then gave up the beach idea and went inland to the wonderful Amagiso onsen (the one with a big waterfall). That was the highlight of this trip , really cool place

As a beach , Yuigahama is crap. But as a beach bars / eye candy / nampa scene its really fun.
The guy on the last pic sat next to the gal just a few minutes ago, she asked for his ice cream, he gave it to her, that was it. Very cost-efficient P4P
