What are yall's thoughts on the mobile providers in Japan?

What's your favorite and why?

I'm with DoCoMo now but I am planning on switching to Softbank when the next iPhone is released. If it turns out to be crap, then I may just opt for an Android phone.

Japan's domestic 'clam-shell' phones used to be uber-sweet. They have fallen behind. Kind of like the Japanese game market.

i have softbank.
it's acceptable. i pay about 5k yen a month.

office phone is docomo, service is ok.
phone is junk though.

Softbank here as well. I've had my account with them since the Vodafone days.

Maybe it should be: "If you don't have an iPhone, which provider do you use?"

Most of us have iPhones - at least I know most of the staff does. That means we all have Softbank, haha. :)

I'm fairly certain that I came to Japan just after Vodafone subscribers were taken over by Softbank. I had a Toshiba flip phone up until the iPhone came out.
