I have been in Japan for about 9 years now. I currently live near Fussa. I travel all over japan with my job. Spend a few months a year in Okinawa and occasionally make it to Hokkaido. I like to drive and eat out at restaurants. I have not learned to speak Japanese. I'm not sure if I just lost hope or just didn't give it enough effort. So for the most part I travel around pointing to get what I want. I'm originally from Tampa Fl and just miss talking with native English speaking folks.

From Tampa? Never been there but I knew a few people that come from there. :)

Nine years in Japan, wow! That's a long time to be here! Do you plan on going back to the states or staying in Japan for the long-term? I'm no where near nine years just yet.

Japanese is tough for English speakers unless you are one of those people who can learn languages instantly. I'm still working on it myself but I know enough Japanese to function in daily life but I still need help from my office assistant to fill out complicated Japanese forms and other overly-complex material written in Japanese. :p

Enjoy your time here; we're fairly relaxed and easy to get along with!

Wow, are you logged on all the time? Does any of this group ever meet outside this site? Like at a Bar for Drinks? I have been to a few Irish pubs and a few HUB's. But over all most of the foreigners I meet are only looking for Japanese girls or in their own little groups.

Haha! No! I'm not logged on all the time, it's pretty slow here during the mornings but we usually have a posting session after lunch when most of us have time to surf the internet a little. For the most part, the staff here know one another from other sites. Eliah brought us here last here to help get this site started after getting fed up with GP and other Japan oriented sites. Maybe after things pick up a little more, we'll organize a group get together somewhere although a number of people want to retain their privacy.

The foreign men in Japan are also on the prowl for Japanese girls, I see it all the time as well when I'm out with my Japanese girlfriends. So, I know what you mean in that regard.

Btw, you make the 3rd Chris here. What's up with that? So many people with that name floating around. :)
