Guess it's time to explore ikebukuro a bit more.
Noooo! Don't ruin the good thing that's going on in Ikebukuro.

I don't think the shop is referring to tag for reviews.
They specifically asked me for TAG reviews the first time I met a girl. Theyll even give you a discount for reviewing the same girl twice lol.

I wonder if they even know / care tag exists?
I can't speak for others, but I always follow the First Rule of Fight Club . . .

Almost a 30% gaijin tax.
Hopefully previous users get grandfathered in. If not despite it being my favorite shop... well I just can't see using it. Principle of the matter and whatnot.

They've been asking for at least a year (first time I was there when they sent a direct link to the forum and offered 1,000 off for leaving a review)

I send Japanese messages to them on LINE. They always reply to me in Japanese.

This issue has been discussed before, but I suspect that with some shops, the extra charge for gaijin is for: 1) the extra burden of accommodating non-Japanese speakers and/or 2) generating additional revenues from non-Japanese-speaking tourists as they are less likely to be repeat customers.

And 3) because dipsticks still go and pay them.

I mean more money is more money, doesn't need any motivation beyond that from the shop.

Don't forget the mindset of a lot of the management, "We don't really want them, but if they'll pay this enormous premium we can tolerate them."
