Community building platforms that work in Japan?

Do you guys know of any good community building platform available in Japan?
I've tried a few of them (the last one being BAND), and they all suck because of one simple reason : people have a huge tendency to not make the move from virtual to real. It's just like having other versions of Facebook with people posting shit and nobody trying to meet for real.

I think the above post was referring to meetup.com - that site is all about getting together in real life and very little about on-line. If you frind a group with your same interest you might be meeting them face-to-face by the end of the day.

I've been using it during several years but unfortunately people only participate in parties. Other events are practically ignored. Since I'm not a party guy this platform has proven itself quite useless to me
