I’m sure I’m Japanese there is also a rich and varied vocabulary for this role too. I like the old phrase for red light district, 花柳界, meaning literally the “world of the flower and the willow”. For the purist, the flower was the courtesan and the willow was the geisha. I read that in practice the line was blurred from the beginning.

Could we offer our companions the option to mark themselves as either flower or willow?
