Back to topic (because Im not the kind of guy who would derail a thread, it’s disgusting). So what’s the situation for Brits, Yankees and Chinese wanting to enter Japan now? (Not permanent residents, just normal tourists/ barbarians)

Uhhh...I mean, having a favorite manga/anime doesn't automatically qualify anyone as a man-child who still watches cartoons though ? Could just be something from way back, if someone were born in the 90's they could easily say Dragon Ball. My point is, you can't ask such a genuine question that people take at face value, then use the response to dismiss them as some sort of degenerated dum dum, then turn around and justify it as a "decent" thing.

You guys keep steering the argument away from the point that it's a shitty way to use a simple ice-breaker question to screen people. I'm not about to go deep into arguing about the level of interest that Japanese people or foreigners have for whatever stuff they're into.

Why's it shitty? She doesn't like guys that are into cartoons, so she gets it out of the way quickly. Less time wasted for both parties.

Same way I generally don't socialise with people who listen to Justin Bieber or watch reality TV.

The thing though is I have never met someone who admitted listening to Justin Bieber.

But I do believe her intent was to be able to cut early those guys who moved to Japan because of anime and not people who would casually answer something and then move to more interesting topics. Like where is the nearest love hotel and how long is their service rest time.

On another note, I happen to notice one of the TAG indies that she is in one of the famous anime and that get us even closer

Disclaimer I haven't read/watch anime for ages. I would prefer playing console game if I have time off from p4p (which is hardly ever)
