Cute VS. Sexy

This would be my first thread of 2019

I realized that I never made a thread like this, so..

Which style are you most attracted to? The cute girl-next-door look or the sexy, naughty look?

I think, for me, it would definitely be “sexy”.. like the-women-in-Pitbull’s-music-videos kind of sexy.



Maybe it’s because I’ve been stuck in Japan for too long that everyone has started to look the same to me, style-wise. It’s just refreshing and more exciting, in my opinion.

But I do get the appeal for the cute girl-next-door as well. It’s more socially-acceptable, more discreet.. and they also tend to look more youthful.

Most women I go for tend to be kind of girl next door types. I like fashionable or metal/punk girls but tend to not go for the sexy types so much. The only time I go for sexy types who wear skimpy clothes are the yankee mom types. But mostly I like them quiet and unassuming outside of the bedroom and then wild in bed. Though I think most women I date could be considered kind of boring for people into the sexy types that are more confident and aggressive in how they act and dress .

Kawaii girls are too kawaii for my taste, but the hip hop video vixens are not my favorite type either. As you’ve pointed out a fresh, youthful look is more attractive to me.
A mix of cute and sexy is my preference Beautiful and sexy also floats my boat.

My personal muse is Cindy Crawford. (We have similar body type so it’s more achievable for me) She’s a mix of beautiful and sexy.

Well, you know my style, i hope i’m nailing both.
If i had to choose i prefer sexy, but i feel like i have to go more for cute in Japan. I don’t want people to guess that i’m 10 years older than my actual age. I basically stopped wearing tiger print because i noticed i got less positive attention from the men here if i did. I think for patterns and colors i do more cute things now, but my clothes are almost always skin tight. Wide clothes are completely unflattering and these wide sport shirts that have been trending in Japan the past few years disgust me, and even if i wanted to wear them, they don’t work with big boobs.

Something i’m also really into lately is the elegant style like long dresses and enka singers and snack bar owners in kimono. I’m planning to become like this when i’m old but i fear it may die out (how long are snack bars and enka still gonna be a thing anyway?)

You are!! I’ve never once seen you in a bad outfit before. You even make simple pajamas/loungewear look amazing. It’s not fair haha

And I get what you mean. If I were slimmer, I’d want to wear sexy clothes often (not skimpy, but like Western sexy-casual). However, I already get stares for wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants when I go outside for 3 minutes just to take out the trash.. so I think I’d feel self-conscious about my fashion choices too.

Little of both, but I think I'm more into the elegant/sexy type - Amami Yuki, Yonekura Ryoko, etc.

Personally, overly done "cute" turns me off pretty quickly, but a little is just fine.

In general I've always been more attracted to harder, tougher women, I suppose that puts me more on the "sexy" side of the fence.

Always had a thing for cholas.... dangerous is hot.

Both, definitely both. If a cute girl who doesn't have to wear much makeup on a daily basis and likes casual clothes can also on occasion ramp it up in a tight dress and heels so your eyeballs pop out of your head and your jaw drops so hard you need to bend down to pick it up, that's a winner right there.

Personally, i really like the very "put-together" elegant look that many Japanese women carry. Eye candy everywhere. Even if i lived here, i don't think i'd ever get sick it.

I think that cute for a girl as far as guys are concerned they mean the stereotypical girl next door. The woman that you bring home to mom and or someone your friends will give you props on for getting with but not them personally. Cute at least for women is not a bad thing, were as handsome...well I mean, that is pretty much you're friendzoned or the girl wants to compliment you on your looks but is not attracted to you. I do realize that depending on the guy and well his confidence it could very well be the same as cute for women.

Sexy is well, bane and envoy for your friends and you drive either straight females into doubting their sexuality or making them envious.

I’m pretty biased here, but @Manami TMK is 100 percent, made-in-Japan classy, elegant and sexy. That includes a wicked sense of humor.
She provides the touchstone for me in Japan.
When I strayed from that criterion, I got burned — like, seriously. So I’ve been trying to stay on the right path with a standard that works for me.

I recently met a young girl whose looks/style is cute/innocent, but her attitude/demeanor is very sexy, really turns me on.

Wasn't dressed fancy, slacks, "sensible" shoes, standard white shirt but was clear to me she was built like a brick shithouse and had that face of "I take no shit from any one" but still, to be very blunt I really wanted to bend her over and take the wild ride.

In general I like variety so with escorts one day I might go for cute, the next for sexy. But what is always good for longer relationships is if the girl looks like she ain't going to take any shit from anyone. And the bonus is that kind of look keeps the local guys from trying too so less competition.

Cute is more about a girl being genuinely adorable and playful than pigtails and school uniforms. I hate that pedo stuff too. But a girl in a sweater and jeans with a bright, honest smile is super cute.
And sexy, aside from obvious physical attributes, has to do with how expressive a woman is, with her eyes, voice AND body. A girl with an unremarkable body can be insanely sexy just with expressive eyes knowing how to use her words.

I agree . I think its hard to be good at both, a « cute » girl trying to look « sexy » can be a fail, and vice-versa.
Currently I’m attracted by sexy (but not over the top) confident, 30+ professional ladies types. Got a bit tired of the younger , look-obsessed crowd. Intelligence is sexy too. Give me that communications or sales pro with a nice black skirt, white shirt with enough cleavage revealed, perl necklace and high-heels. With lots of charm, smart and a bit of attitude.
